This weekend, two Southlngton
title holders will compete with 16
other contestants for the title of
Miss Connecticut and the more
than $10,000 in scholarships and
prizes at the Shubert Performing
Arts center in New Haven
Suzanne Roy, 19, Miss Briarwood
College. and Colleen Burbank, 19,
Miss Southlngton, have been
housed at Briarwood College on
Welch St and Mt Vernon Road
since Wednesday with the other
contestants, where they will stay
until Saturday's crowning
Facing a busy schedule, the
contestants will begin competition
on Prlda.y night at the Shubert at 8
p m with evening gotn, swimsuit
and talent competition The top ten
finalists will be chosen Saturday
evening with Judges drawing from
the Friday performances as a
criteria
The final ten will then perform
again under the watchful cameras
of Channel 8 in New Haven who will
broadcast the event from 9 until 11
