he explained
lessons in April and by
June I was ready for
my first recital "
Kelth's teachers for
the past three and a half
years have been Norma
and Leo Desjardlns
They themselves are
known for thew mustcal
abilities and talents,
both of which have
helped Keflh tremendously
"They really push,"
said Lisa Lavole,
Kelth's mother
"'They're willing to
work with him and put
In that little bit of extra
time that he might need
every now and then '"
The Desjardlns, who
meet once a week for a
half hour tlth Kelth.
feel he has great
potential Both claim he
IS a rare and talented
boy soprano with a lot of
enjoyment to give an
audience
At the age of tweh,e.
Kelth s able to maintain
his beautiful soprano
voice through daily
practlo6 He and his
parents are not'
preparing for the time
In the not too distant
future when Kelth's
voice will change
"Ever since I started
singing I was a
soprano." Kelth said "I
think my voice will
•, change between the
time I'm 13 and 15. but if
you practice when
you're young, you can
keep it if you need to "
Town Engineer Anthonv
to rebuild the Hart St
cost estimates of $81.000
more than originally
estimated because of
poor soil conditions
which will re.quire
"friction pilings' to
support the structure
About one-third of the
$473.000 cost is expected
to be funded by the state
under the Department
of Transportatlon's $18million
Local Bridge
The bridge currently
becomes deeper
"I'll probably end up
having a range of four
octaves, right now I can
hit three." he said
Kelth's parents
explained music seems
to be innate in Kelth.
and has been ever since
they can remember
When he was very
young, he would pull out
a foot rest. sit down with
his guitar and begin performing
thlle the family
was watching television
He's also gone
downstairs, and with no
lessons or preparation
of any kind. started
laylng the piano Once.
is parents said Kelth
ust 'took a violin and
"With music, you ve
just got to be born with
it." said his father H J
"Some people love
music but they can't do
anything with it
For him, tt jubt
seems natural He can
learn a song by just
going over it two or
three times "
Kelth has been encouraged
and supported
by his parents ever
since he began pursuing
his interest actively
Right now, Kelth is sure
he'd like to be a singer.
recording artist and
actor all rolled into one
The title role In
'Brundlbar' earlier this
month was Kelth's first
opera It was translated
into English for the
audience, and it was an
experience Kelth
thoroughly enjoyed
"I like opera," he
said "It h ps you use
your voice better and it
shows that you have a
rebuilt, the town
engineer told councllem
"The pavement is not
in that good of a .c.ondltlon
explained, noting that
Just installing drainage
with a "trench patch"
would cost about
$50,000
He explained that
Pleasant Street is near
the top of the list of town
streets to be rebuilt, and
that the flooded section
should be corrected
along with the In
long-term results "
If everything goes like
clockwork, all three
items could conceivably
face a public bonding
referendum by the end
of Augu
The bonding ordinance
must be drafted
and presented to the
Council for approval.
then scheduled for a
public hearing at the
next council session If
the draft is complete by
the next council s.esslon,
the public hearing could
be held July 22
If the Council waives
its rule to not act upon
any Item the same night
it is heard, the
referendum can be
