GENERAL RULES
1. Appropriate Attire – Jeans, Long Sleeve Shirt with Collar, Western Hat and Cowboy
or Western Boots.
2. Equipment – A chain shank is acceptable (but not required). May be used under the
chin or over the nose in all sex divisions. Chains through the mouth, over the gums/lips
are not permitted. A Chifney Bit such as those used at sales/at racetracks is permitted.
3. Handlers – All handlers showing horses must be individual AQHA members in good
standing and must present membership card to show management at time of entry.
Memberships may also be purchased from management at the show. An exhibitor may
show multiple horses per class if number of heats allow (to be determined on number of
entries). If horse qualifies for final evaluation, handler may designate another ‘qualified
handled’ to lead horse in ring. Hip number must match handler/exhibitor back number. *
Exhibitors will be showing in the Open Division and should be aware that one’s amateur
or youth status with AQHA may be affected by showing a horse, in a halter class, which
is not owned solely by the exhibitor or an immediate family member.
