1. <strong>EVENT</strong> SUMMARY<br />

• Venue Day 1: Drummoyne Sailing Club (Friday 15 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong>).<br />

• Venue Day 2 & 3: Rosehill Boat Show (16 – 17 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong>).<br />

• Dates: Fri 15 th Mar – Sun 17 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

• Practice Day: Thur 14 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong> (sunrise to sunset).<br />

• Practice Ban: Mon 4 th Mar – Wed 13 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

• Briefing Dinner: Thur 14 th Mar, <strong>2013</strong> at Drummoyne Sailing Club.<br />

2. <strong>EVENT</strong> FORMAT<br />

• Boater-only event.<br />

• Results in FM Magazines to include a sponsors' logo.<br />

• Observers and media directed onboard as per tournament officials.<br />

• 7am - 2pm sessions. All anglers fish all days.<br />

3. FEES/PAYOUTS<br />

• $600 per boater.<br />

• 100% Payback allocated through the top 20% of participants.<br />

4. RULES<br />

• Lure and fly only, cast and retrieve, as per standard ABT events and guidelines.<br />

• 5 fish per angler, per session. 25cm to the fork.<br />

• No bait, no trolling, no berley.<br />

• All other relevant ABT <strong>BREAM</strong> rules apply.<br />

5. START LOCATION & PROCEDURE<br />

Location Days 1, 2 & 3<br />

• Drummoyne Sailing Club Wharf, all days.


Procedure<br />

• Boats checkout 6.00am – 7.00am.<br />

• Boats start at 7.00am. PFD (lifejackets), and safety lanyard fitted must be fitted at<br />

start and all times the boat is planning.<br />

6. WEIGH-IN LOCATION & PROCEDURE<br />

Location Day 1<br />

• Drummoyne Sailing Club/ ABT stage and tents.<br />

Procedure<br />

• Boats to pull up onto beach adjacent<br />

• Key tags to be placed on tag board (n.b All tags must be on board by 2.00pm or<br />

late penalties will apply- 50grams for every minute or there part of)<br />

• Competitors to place fish in bags provided by tournament officials, then make<br />

their way to the weigh-in area.<br />

Location Day 2 & 3<br />

• Rose Hill Boat show.<br />

Procedure<br />

• Boats to be retrieved from Whorf Rd Boat Ramp<br />

• Key tags to be placed on tag board (n.b All tags must be on board by 2.00pm or<br />

late penalties will apply- 50grams for every minute or there part of)<br />

• Drive through weigh-in at RHBS, full directions will be given at briefing.<br />

7. NO GO ZONES<br />

• Seaward of the <strong>Open</strong> Water boundary between Cannae Point (North Head) and<br />

South Head.<br />

• Cockle Bay<br />

• Sydney Cove (Circular Quay): access is prohibited to recreational craft.<br />

• Silverwater Bridge: access is prohibited west of Silverwater Bridge.<br />

• Any Naval waters: (a 100 metre exclusion zone applies) e.g. Garden Island,<br />

Clifton Gardens, Balmoral, Spectacle & the northern end Snapper Islands,<br />

Chowder Bay, Waverton . (Cockatoo Island is AOK)<br />

• Darling Harbour Security Warning Zone<br />

• Homebush Bay<br />

• Inside the following marinas: (see Marina Map for in-bounds & out-of-bounds)<br />

• Westport Marina, Cabarita<br />

o Gladesville Marina<br />

o Birkenhead Marina<br />

o Pulpit Point Marinads<br />

o Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, Kirribilli


o Rushcutters Bay Marina<br />

o Royal Motor Yacht Club & Rose Bay Marina<br />

o Davis Marina, Manly<br />

o D’alboras, & Clontarf Marinas, The Spit<br />

o Northbridge Marina<br />

o Roseville Marina<br />

• Within 30 metres of the following:<br />

o Any berthed vessel at White Bay wharfs<br />

o Kings Wharf<br />

o Darling Harbour Ferry Jetty<br />

o Darling Harbour Aquarium<br />

8. SPEED ZONES<br />

• 10 knots within 30 metres of any moored boat, person or structure.<br />

• Parramatta River: a 4-knot speed limit is in place 100metres to the east and west of<br />

the cable ferry between Putney Point and Mortlake.<br />

• Be aware of speed limits around bridges (Sign posted)<br />

9. SAFETY GEAR REQUIREMENTS<br />

Below is a definitive list of all the gear you will require to fish the event. This gear will be<br />

checked by officials at the checkout on day one. If any of it is missing or not working you<br />

will not be permitted to start the event.<br />

• * Lifejacket Type 1 for all occupants.<br />

Note- For all vessels under 4.8 metres the occupant must wear a PFD type 1, 2, or 3<br />

at all times if they are the lone occupant in the boat. A PFD type 1 still has to be worn<br />

while the boat is on the plane.<br />

Visit http://www.maritime.nsw.gov.au/campaigns/lifejacket.html for the recent<br />

changes to lifejacket rules and full details on the regulations relating to vessels under 4.8<br />

metres.<br />

• Anchor and chain/line.<br />

• Bailer/Bucket (vessels with open bilges) or bilge pump (vessels with closed bilges).<br />

• Fire bucket.<br />

• Fire extinguisher (vessels with electric start, electric motors, battery, gas or fuel<br />

stoves).<br />

• Paddle or oars/ rowlocks in vessels under 6m unless a second means of propulsion is<br />

fitted.<br />

• Safety label.<br />

• Sound signal (air horn/whistle/bell).<br />

• Waterproof torches (floating).<br />

Notes<br />

* Lifejackets must be suitable for the intended wearer, in good condition, accessible, and<br />

inflatable units serviced in accordance with the manufacture’s instructions.<br />

• Navigation lights must be displayed between sunset and sunrise and during times<br />

of restricted visibility.


10. WATERWAY CONSIDERATIONS<br />

• Give way to Rivercats on Parramatta River, and be aware of their presence<br />

• Boats not to anchor in shipping channels, near channel marks and fairway buoys (e.g.<br />

the main channel between Millers Point and Fort Denison)
