APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. Why do you want to be involved with the inaugural FSE SGA?
Students attending the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education deserve to have an
avenue where they can express their thoughts and concerns about the university policies
and procedures as well as their experiences. Being involved with the Student Government
Association will present an opportunity for me to work as a liaison between students and
the university faculty and staff. I intend to use the student’s thoughts, concerns,
experiences, and overall feedback to help the governing board decide on issues and
concerns to discuss and address for the academic year.
2. How are you qualified to serve as an SGA member?
I have spent four years working as a student assistant for the Dean of Students Office and
have also served as a faculty advisor for student government. These experiences have
allowed me to get both perspectives, as a student and an administrator, on issues that
directly impact students and the university as a whole.
3. If elected, what will be your priorities and how will these serve the student
population?
If elected, it will be my priority to implement an open door/open communication policy
for students at Abraham S. Fischler School of Education. This open line of
communication will allow students, both online and on campus, to be actively involved in
a dialogue on the directions they would like to see the school of education go. It will be
my priority to make it possible for all students, especially distance learners, to feel and
know that they are part of the NSU community.
In addition, I will help streamline the communications between Fischler students and the
Enrollment and Student Services (ESS) departments. My experiences have afforded me
the opportunity to have a direct line of communication with staff members that answer
financial aid related questions, as well as Satisfactory Academic Progress and filling for
appeals. This insight and access will undoubtedly help ease student’s college experience.

4. The mission statement of Student Affairs at the Student Education Centers is “To
foster student success and a University community.” How will you assist in ensuring
that the mission is accomplished at Abraham S. Fischler School of Education?
It is imperative that student’s at the Student Education Centers are afforded the
opportunity to get the full NSU experience. To ensure this opportunity is made available,
I will implement an open communication policy between students and the Student
Government Association. This will allow students to have direct communications with
individuals that represent them and serve as their voice.
In addition, I would promote appointing a delegate at each Student Education Centers to
serve as a direct point of contact for that particular location. The selected individual
would be responsible for ensuring student inquiries are reviewed in a timely manner.
Furthermore, this involvement would present opportunities for individuals from Student
Education Centers to gain added experience working with the Student Government
Association and expose them to the higher education administration arena.
