Character Animation in an Animated Television Production<br />

Mark donald – B.O.B.’s Big Break – dreamworks Animation<br />

Scotsman Mark Donald began in animation 12 years ago, working at Scotland’s Digital<br />

Animations. After several years as lead character animator on the Tomb Raider video-game<br />

series at Core Design, Mark went to Texas-based ReelFX to work on features (such as The Wild<br />

and Everyone’s Hero). Mark’s work at PDI/DreamWorks includes Shrek the Third, Bee Movie and<br />

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. He is currently a supervising animator on Megamind.<br />

Mark Mitchell – Prep and Landing – walt disney Animation studios<br />

Animator Mark Mitchell joined Disney Animation in 1995 as a Cleanup Breakdown Artist<br />

on The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He went on to lend his talents to Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan,<br />

The Emperor’s New Groove, Treasure Planet and Home on the Range. Mark transitioned from<br />

hand-drawn to computer animation for Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, and Bolt. He was<br />

supervising animator on Prep and Landing, and is currently working on Rapunzel.<br />

kevan shorey – Merry Madagascar – dreamworks Animation<br />

Kevan Shorey began as an animator at PDI/DreamWorks on Shrek 2. A Wales native,<br />

Kevan was first exposed to CG while studying animation at Bournemouth University.<br />

His student films were spotted by representatives of PDI/DreamWorks and, after a brief<br />

stint at London’s Double Negative, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to join<br />

DreamWorks. His most recent project is How to Train Your Dragon.<br />

tony smeed – Prep and Landing – walt disney Animation studios<br />

Minnesota native Tony Smeed joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1996 as an<br />

animator on Dinosaur. Tony provided his animation talents for many projects at Disney<br />

including Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, Super Rhino and Prep and Landing. Tony<br />

is currently working as an animator on Disney’s 50th animated feature film and first<br />

computer animated fairy tale, the 2010 release Rapunzel.<br />

Philip to – Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space –<br />

dreamworks Animation<br />

Melbourne native Philip To graduated from University of New South Wales. Philip<br />

worked for a couple of studios in Sydney before heading abroad to Framestore CFC in<br />

London, where he worked on The Golden Compass and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince<br />

Caspian. He is currently working at PDI/DreamWorks in the Bay Area, with credits on<br />

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Monsters vs. Aliens.<br />
