SkillUp Washington<br />

SkillUp builds partnerships and promotes policies<br />

that support postsecondary education for lowincome<br />

working adults in order to increase their<br />

advancement into family-supporting jobs and<br />

employer access to a qualified workforce. In its<br />

first major project, SkillUp’s College for Working<br />

Adults is a demonstration project involving King<br />

County community colleges to test the feasibility<br />

of new educational strategies tailored to meet the<br />

needs of working adults, including compressed<br />

classroom time, simpler class registration and<br />

scheduling, comprehensive support services, and<br />

job search and job placement assistance.<br />
