oute stat hold time parameter in the routing protocol. Random waypoint model is one of the popular models used in many mobile communication simulations due to its simplicity. In random waypoint model as shown in Fig 3.3, speed and direction are all chosen randomly from a fixed set. This could lead to rapid change in direction and speed which does not represent accurately the actual human movement within a building. Therefore, indoor environments (such as buildings) contain corridors and pre defined pathways. The movement usually consists of straight line paths with equally probability of turning into all directions at any turning point. Figure 3.3: Random Waypoint Mobility Model The Authors in Ref [10] showed a comparison between three different mobility models, Random Waypoint, Random Walk with reflection and Random Walk with wrapping. While the Random Waypoint model produced the highest throughput, my research aimed to propose a variation to mobility model that is a variation to the Random Waypoint model suitable for indoor environment simulation. In the new proposed model, the MANET stations moves along a corridors of a building. Both the random waypoint model and the newly proposed model are illustrated in Fig 3.4 and Fig 3.5 respectively. 21
