B. Increase the percentage of residents 65 years and older who get the annual flu
shot.

Preventive Healthcare- Cancer and Heart
A. Increase mammograms for women 40 years and older on the Early Bird and
with the Pink Ribbon Social.
B. Increase colorectal cancer screenings on the Early Bird.
C. Increase awareness for warning signs and symptoms of stroke through use of
To Your Health education programming and on the TGMC website.
V. Community Behavior
A. Increase participation in community health screenings by adding a second
Early Bird that will be housed in Terrebonne Parish for Terrebonne residents.
B. The Internet serves as a communication vehicle. Enrich the TGMC website
content by providing risk assessments for stroke and heart attack. Also update
and add additional healthcare educational content on TGMC website.
In conclusion, TGMC has developed strategic initiatives as defined above to address the
main health concerns as identified in the findings of this survey. These initiatives are further
described in the strategic and operational plans of the organization and in the commitment of
resources and technology to address the major health concerns identified in the community.
TGMC has partnered and will continue to partner with community health and social
organizations within the parish to provide healthcare services to all people within the service
district as defined in our mission and vision statements.
