tennis regionals
in boys singles

made the regional
tournament for boys tennis
singles.
“Iʼve been playing
since I was little, ever
since Iʼve just stuck to it.
So Iʼm very proud and
excited to be going to the
tournament,” Brian said.

Looking for momentum;
Trojans arenʼt giving up
With a few bumpy games during the season the
Trojans are in the run for the playoffs.
This year joining District 31-4A has made the
Trojans put all their efforts into staying competitive with
rival teams such as Calallen and Alice.
“District this year is really tough, nobody would
have thought all teams would have so much talent,” Coach
Corky Gallegos said about the new district. “Thatʼs good
though because it separates the great teams and itʼs always
good for a challenge.”
The team has not given up any hope about making
the playoffs.
“I think playing in a district like this only makes
us better and more prepared for playoffs. Especially with
teams that we know weʼre going to face late in the run,”
senior Marcus Villanueva said.
The Trojans will play Kingsville on April 22 in
Kingsville at 7 p.m. They will play Alice at Cabaniss
Field at 5:30 p.m. on April 29. They will end the regular
season with a non-district game against Robstown April
30th.
