KAIROS INTERNATIONAL
International Update

2012 began with no money in
the KPMI budget for the international
ministry and very
limited funds for staff travel.
This means there is no money
to start new ministries outside
the US, although keen interest
has come from people in Colombia
and in Ghana. It also
means that the international
ministry coordinator does not
have adequate funds to travel
to those countries nor to countries
wherein the ministry is
already active but where continued
monitoring is still required.
And it further means
there is nothing budgeted for
support of the ministry in
countries where the ministry
has been established but it is
not self-sustaining. But I am
pleased to report that the
Kairos community did not let
the reality of the budget get in
the way of their commitment to
the extension of the ministry.
The first two events scheduled
for the year (KI – Men’s
Weekend in the Dominican
Republic and a KO Weekend
in Costa Rica) were funded by
extra gifts from individuals,
churches and advisory councils.
Forty-one residents at La
Victoria Prison in Santo Domingo
and fifteen guests (out
of an anticipated thirty) were
able to benefit from God’s
presence through Kairos ministries
in those countries because
of your gifts.
There are other planned events
during the year in other countries,
and I have encouraged
them to continue planning for
those events to take place.
Kairos in the Dominican Republic
will be sending two
women to a Spanish language
Kairos Weekend in Florida.
With the zeroing out of the
budget for the international
ministry, individuals, churches
and other organizations may
donate to KPMI, designating
the gift for “International Ministry”
in general or for the ministry
in a specific country, e.g.,
Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua,
Peru or the Dominican Republic,
or for new starts. Gifts
should be sent to our office at

THE FINAL INSPECTION
Written by an Indiana State Prison Inmate, 11-20-2011
The soldier stood and faced God, which most all know, should come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shined just as brightly as his brass.
“Step forward now, you soldier, How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To your fellow man have you been true?”
The soldier answered: “ I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was tough,
and sometimes I’ve been violent, because the world is awfully rough.
But I never took a penny that wasn’t mine to keep
And I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got a little too steep;
If you’ve a place for me here Lord, it needn’t be so grand,
I never expected a lot or had too much to give, but if I fell short of your favor, I will surely understand.”
There was silence all around the throne where the saints so often trod,
as the soldier waited quietly, for judgment from his God.
“Step forward now you soldier, you’ve born your burdens well,
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets, you’ve done your time in Hell.”
