<strong>Yulia</strong> <strong>Bolotova</strong> <strong>Named</strong><br />

<strong>PTR</strong> <strong>Female</strong> <strong>Player</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong><br />

Hilton Head Island, SC - - Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Tennis Registry (<strong>PTR</strong>) will present its annual<br />

awards this week during <strong>the</strong> 2012 <strong>PTR</strong> International Tennis Symposium. The event,<br />

which includes 50-plus on court and classroom presentations for tennis teachers and<br />

coaches, a tennis trade show and tournament is being held February 24-28, 2012, at <strong>the</strong><br />

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, in Orlando, Florida<br />

<strong>Yulia</strong> <strong>Bolotova</strong>, <strong>of</strong> Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been named <strong>PTR</strong> <strong>Female</strong> <strong>Player</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Year</strong>.<br />

A <strong>PTR</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional, <strong>Yulia</strong> started playing tennis at 13 in her native Perm, Russia. After<br />

graduating from <strong>the</strong> Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, she went to Mississippi University<br />

on a full tennis scholarship. While earning her MBA, <strong>Bolotova</strong> was a Graduate Assistant<br />

Coach for <strong>the</strong> tennis teams at Kutztown University.<br />

<strong>Bolotova</strong> found her passion for developing elite juniors, but never gave up on her own<br />

playing career. She competed in satellite tournaments, earning WTA points in 2003 and<br />

2004, and won numerous USTA Middle States Open titles from 2003-09. Her accolades<br />

include #6 ranked National Open Women’s Doubles in 2007 and 2008, Nationals 5.0<br />

Women’s Team 2nd place finish in 2006, and #1 singles and #1 Women’s Doubles in<br />

Middle States in 2005.<br />

More recently, <strong>Bolotova</strong> captured 1st place in Doubles, 2nd place in Mixed, and 3rd in<br />

Singles at <strong>the</strong> 2011 National Clay Court 30s. At <strong>the</strong> 2011 National Outdoor Hard Court<br />

30s, she placed 2nd in Singles and 3rd in both Doubles and Mixed Doubles. <strong>Bolotova</strong><br />

fared even better on <strong>the</strong> grass at Newport, placing 2nd in Doubles and Mixed, and 3rd in<br />

Singles in <strong>the</strong> National Open Grass Court Championships. <strong>Bolotova</strong> is nationally ranked<br />

#1 in 30s Singles and Doubles and Team Doubles, and #3 in Mixed.<br />

<strong>PTR</strong> is <strong>the</strong> largest global organization <strong>of</strong> tennis teaching pr<strong>of</strong>essionals with more than<br />

14,000 members in 117 countries. It has <strong>the</strong> greatest percentage <strong>of</strong> multicultural and<br />

women members <strong>of</strong> any such organization. <strong>PTR</strong> is dedicated to educating, certifying and<br />

servicing tennis teachers and coaches around <strong>the</strong> world in order to grow <strong>the</strong> game.<br />
