GA-540 TADIL-A/LINK-11 SERIAL DATA LINK TRANSLATOR
The DRS GA-540 TADIL-A/LINK-11 Serial Data Link Translator
(SDLT) provides the interface in a TADIL/Link-11 system
between a serial encryption device and a tactical data
system processor. The GA-540 serial interface to the
encryption device meets the Airborne Tactical Data System
(ATDS) interface requirements of MIL-STD-188-203-1A -
Appendix D2. All data buffering, timing and ATDS
handshaking are performed automatically.
System benefits include a simplified system design, flexible
selection of hardware and elimination of costly interface
design. The DRS GA-540 is a proven off-the-shelf system.
The GA-540 is offered as a 19-inch rack-mountable unit, a
1/4 ATR-Short unit, or a 6U-VME card. The rack-mounted and
ATR units include a power supply, built-in-test indicator and
panel-mounted connectors. The VME card set can be hosted
in any VME operating environment.
GA-540 TADIL-A/LINK-11 Serial Data Link Translator
The ATDS interface conforms to the requirements of the
standard serial cryptographic device. Data is transmitted
with the appropriate burst of clock pulses in response to
each demand pulse from the Data Terminal Set (DTS). The
re-circulated data is checked on the board and if an error is
detected, an ATDS fault pulse is generated and error status
bits are set. The message status summary bits from the
DTS are passed through along with the received data to the
Tactical Data System.
