9.5 DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
ISSUE AND
OBJECTIVE
• Access and Parking
To ensure adequate
provision of secure, safe
and accessible on-Site
parking for residents,
workers and visitors.
• Note:
Council shall
determine the most
appropriate use
category to determine
car parking
requirements under
Schedule 5
PERFORMANCE
CRITERIA
1. Car parking is provided
according to projected
needs which are
determined by:
• the size and type of
the proposed
Development and its
parking demand
generation
characteristics;
• the availability of
on-street car
parking;
• the possible demand
for car parking
space from
adjoining localities;
• the occasional need
for overflow
parking;
• the Streetscape
impact of parking
provisions;
• the car parking
requirements of
people with
disabilities.
2. Car parking facilities
are designed and
located to :
• conveniently and
safely serve users,
including
pedestrians, cyclists
and vehicles;
• enable efficient use
of car spaces and
accessways,
including adequate
manoeuvrability for
vehicles between the
street and the
Development Site;

Development in
accordance with the
following Clauses of
Schedule 5* of this
Scheme – S5.2, S5.3,
S5.4, S5.5 & S5.7.
