APTO
Algonquin Parent Teacher Organization
Our Mission.
< To provide support and
assistance to the parents,
teachers, students and
administration of
Algonquin Regional High
School.
< To promote
communication among and
between parents, faculty,
administration and
students to strengthen the
education process and
increase community spirit.
Be a Part of Our Community. IT’S EASY.
When your child’s in high school, it’s critical that you be aware of what’s going on at school.
Getting that information from your child is almost impossible! APTO is a great way to create
that home/school connection. While your involvement may not be in the classroom, or
chaperoning a field trip, we still need you to keep the ARHS community informed, strong and
safe, and provide parental support.
The high school years will shape your child’s future, so please make a difference and get
involved! It takes parents to keep APTO going! We’re always looking for new ideas,
suggestions and new faces. Make one meeting, come every month or simply support the
APTO financially. However you choose to become involved you’re always welcome!
As member of the APTO you’ll get the monthly APTO newsletter sent directly to your
personal email to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in the school. You’ll also be the
first to know about any events/programs we’re sponsoring or organizing and receive monthly
APTO meeting reminders. Plus, your child will be eligible to apply for an APTO scholarship as
a graduating senior.
What Do We Do. IT’S IMPORTANT.
< Support ARHS programs such as DECA, SAAD, and assist teacher lead initiatives.
< Organize/sponsor guest speakers on various topics for the ARHS community.
< Produce and distribute the monthly APTO newsletter. The Newsletter, contains
important information from the ARHS faculty and administration as well as from many
Algonquin organizations, clubs, class representatives and sports/coaches.
< Support Junior Post-Prom Party: a safe, chaperoned, substance-free, all-night postprom
event for ARHS Juniors, regardless of prom attendance.
< Coordinate hospitality programs for both students and teachers, including the
teacher/staff appreciation breakfast and luncheon.
< Coordinate parent & student volunteers to support ARHS and APTO sponsored events.
