Clear-out
complete as
Yaty leaves
Crown
The clear-out at Phnom Penh Crown now seems complete. Many
wondered if Sou Yaty would survive the gullitin after his troublesome
co-conspirators from the now infamous fiasco in China were all quickly
shipped out of the club, including former club captain Khim Borey.
It has now been announced that Phnom Penh Crown and Sou Yaty will in
fact part ways. The talented goalkeeper, who has been described as the
Cambodian Buffon at times, has now signed on with Beoung Ket Angkor for
the duration of the 2015 season.
However they did manage to nail down the signature of popular South
Korean utility player Jeongho Kim for another season. Jeongho netted 3
C-League goals in an up and down season last year, as his first team
appearances were restricted.
Sam Schweingruber had this to say, “We first tried to sign him again last
year but as Jeongho was asking for more playing time, we didn’t know we
could agree to his demands. Finally, after … recent developments, we have
agreed terms and hope that our Korean Jewel will come to shine in 2015!"
With the re-signing of Jeongho, and with George Bisan and Odion Obadin
already on the books, Crown now only 2 remaining foreign player spots left
on their roster. That may not last for much longer though, as South African
trialist Shane Booysen is catching the eye with some headline grabbing
displays recently, including a man of the match performance against the
African All Stars at the RSN Stadium.
The wing wizard should bring number of members in Crown’s African
contingent to three, and he will also provide some blistering pace to PPCFC’s
attack. The 26 year attacker has just spent the past year in Thailand after
stints with a number of clubs in his homeland.
