HARBOUR MASTER’S DIRECTIONS<br />

1. The vessel must have a name or a number which is clearly identifiable<br />

from outboard.<br />

2. There must be a minimum of two persons in the <strong>ski</strong> boat at any time whilst<br />

towing a <strong>ski</strong>er; one driving, the other acting as look-out astern.<br />

3. Ski boats must navigate anti-clockwise around the area which is well<br />

marked by stakes and buoys.<br />

4. The Harbour Master may order the withdrawal of a <strong>permit</strong> without refund<br />

<strong>for</strong> infringement of these conditions.<br />

5. The <strong>permit</strong> is to be available in the boat at all times and shown to the<br />

patrol officer/safety warden on request.<br />

6. Water <strong>ski</strong>ing is <strong>permit</strong>ted only from sunrise to sunset.<br />

7. Any incident of accident must be reported to Poole Harbour Control.<br />

8. The use of inflatables is not allowed within the harbour limits.<br />

Notes:<br />

1. Poole Harbour Control will keep an up-dated record of valid <strong>permit</strong>s to enable patrol<br />

officers to carry out rapid checks.<br />

2. Serious offences will lead to prosecution under the Poole Harbour Byelaws <strong>for</strong><br />

which the maximum fine is £1,000. Copies of the Byelaws are available from the<br />

Harbour Master.<br />

3. There will be a harbour patrol launch on duty in the area during busy times in the<br />

summer months.<br />
