DESCRIPTION:<br />

Ms. Vaugeois has her Master's in Political Science from the<br />

University of <strong>Alberta</strong> in Edmonton, Canada. Her expertise lies particularly<br />

within international political economy and community<br />

development. Currently, Ms. Vaugeois is Executive Director of the<br />

John Humphrey Centre <strong>for</strong> Peace and Human Rights where she is<br />

leading projects focused democratic renewal, community development,<br />

partnership building, human rights education and racism.<br />

Ms. Vaugeois has managed various international projects in<br />

Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Bosnia, Ukraine, South Africa,<br />

Russia and China <strong>for</strong> both the University of <strong>Alberta</strong> and the<br />

Government of <strong>Alberta</strong>. She has worked in Uganda, East Africa, as a<br />

facilitator and trainer <strong>for</strong> an income generation project and a community<br />

liaison <strong>for</strong> a water project. She is also President and Founder<br />

of the Ainembabazi Children's Project, a non-profit organization<br />

working to improve educational opportunities <strong>for</strong> AIDS affected<br />

orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda.<br />
