HISTORY
“A company with a proud heritage”
Ariel view of the factory site, early 1950s.
Nestling in the Coln Valley on the edge
of the Cotswolds, Godwin Pumps has
been manufacturing pumping equipment
since the end of the 19th century.
Harold Joynes Godwin, our founder,
us expand our product range and
worldwide distribution network. In the
seventies, we developed and introduced
our unique “Dri-Prime” automatic selfpriming
range of pump sets, and set up
distribution agreements to develop hire
fleets, both in the UK and in the USA,
many of which are still in place today.
We now have the largest fleets of diesel
driven hire pumps in these countries.
Now our range has been expanded
even further with LPC approved and
NFPA 20 UL/FM fire pumps, for both
permanent and portable applications.
Today Godwin Pumps is part of
originally set out to provide windmills
and deep well piston pumps to deliver
water for the large number of fine
local properties and agricultural
developments in the surrounding area.
Since then, we have grown and
prospered. Our first export markets were
in Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania and South
Africa. Then, following the development
of diesel and electric driven centrifugal
pump sets, we began to supply the
construction market, as well as irrigation
and domestic water supply
installations both in the UK and the
Middle East. Exports currently account
for over 60% of our current production.
In the1960s, a change of ownership
led to considerable investment and saw
with one of the most up-to-date and
well-equipped pump factories in the
UK. Our pumps are noted for their
simplicity of design, quality
engineering and robust construction.
These features combine to ensure
PRODUCT RANGE
“The Godwin range is now one of the most extensive
available from a single manufacturer”
The range includes end suction centrifugal, Dri-Prime
automatic self priming, wet prime, submersibles, vertical
multi-stage and fire pumps. Flows up to 2600 m3/hr. and heads
up to 230m. can be handled according to the type or system.
With the support and backing of its parent company, Godwins
has always been quick to embrace new technology in all its
forms. The extensive range of pumps, world-wide experience -
stretching back over a hundred years - in house design and
manufacturing facilities, has built Godwin Pumps an enviable
reputation in the design, manufacture, supply, installation and
commissioning of high quality, reliable pumping sets.
Dri-Prime pumps
Godwin’s extensive range of heavy duty
‘Dri-Prime’ pumps are available in
configurations and capacities to suit a wide
range of applications in construction, water
treatment, agriculture, mining and industry.
In addition to water, they can readily handle
solids and slurries. Their self-priming and
re-priming ability from dry and the fact that
they can run on ‘snore’ conditions make
them particularly suitable for de-watering
and scavenging applications. Godwin
Dri-Prime pumps set the standard in terms
of heavy duty construction, ruggedness and
reliability. They can be operated easily by
unskilled personnel and maintained in the
field by one man.
Configurations available include engine and
electric drive as well as bare shaft. All pump
sets can be supplied as portable, stationary,
mobile or skid mounted units.
Capacities: Up to 2600 m3/hr.
Discharge Heads: Up to 140 metres.
ET Series pumps
For applications where constant re-priming
and large solids handling capabilities are not
required, the ‘ET’ Series of wet self-priming
pumps can often provide the cost effective
solution. In addition to their widespread use
for construction, de-watering and irrigation
applications, they are also used extensively
in industry. Units are capable of handling
liquids with up to 25% solids in suspension.
Maintenance is extremely straightforward
with easy access to the mechanical seal and
wearplate.
Configurations available include: engine and
electric drive and bare shaft. All models can
be supplied as portable, stationary, mobile or
skid mounted units.
Capacities: Up to 550 m3/hr.
Discharge Heads: Up to 50 metres.
Isoflow pumps
With their all metal construction, minimum
number of moving parts and simplified,
minimum maintenance requirement, the
Isoflow series of single and multi-stage end
suction centrifugal pumps have become the
market leader for industrial, irrigation and
agricultural applications around the world.
They have the ability to pump semi-viscous
liquids, light slurries and small solids,
although they are generally used for clean
liquid handling duties. Primarily constructed
from cast iron, bronze or stainless steel
versions are also available.
Configurations cover packed gland, single or
double mechanical seal arrangements, engine
or electric drive or bare shaft. Units can be
supplied as portable, stationary, mobile or
skid mounted. Specialist designed electrically
driven Tank Top, Trunk or Cantilever units
are available.
Capacities: Up to 1300 m3/hr.
Discharge Heads: Up to 165 metres.
