STEPS TOWARDS A PERFORMING HOME
場 地 伙 伴 計 劃
Initiated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Venue Partnership Scheme aims to foster
partnerships between performing arts groups and venues. In May 2008, The Hong Kong Ballet became
working partners with the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC). This collaboration marked a stepping stone
for the Company in its quest to acquire a permanent rehearsal and performance venue. HKCC will serve as
a performing base for the Company, enabling the execution of more strategic programming to generate a
broader audience base.
The strategies adopted include:
- Enhancing the image and character of The Hong Kong Ballet and the HKCC through the development of
venue-based marketing concepts.
- Broadening the audience base by optimising the use of facilities through exhibitions, event receptions,
lectures, pre-performance talks, workshops and other outreach activities, generating more than 1,300
participants during the period.
- Facilitating corporate and private sponsorships by making the venue available for events and other
cross-promotion strategies.
- Encourage community participation in the arts through education and appreciation programmes.

化 中 心 成 為 合 作 伙 伴 , 這 重 要 的 里 程 碑 也 意 味 著 香 港 文 化 中 心 將 會 成 為 港 芭 的 主 要 演 出 及 排 練 場 地 , 透 過 更 緊 密 的 合 作
吸 引 更 多 不 同 層 面 的 觀 眾 。
港 芭 的 策 略 包 括 :
- 針 對 香 港 文 化 中 心 這 個 場 地 , 發 展 巿 場 策 略 , 提 升 港 芭 及 香 港 文 化 中 心 的 形 象 , 加 強 其 特 色 ;
- 運 用 場 地 設 施 以 舉 辦 展 覽 、 酒 會 、 講 座 、 演 前 導 賞 、 工 作 坊 和 其 他 外 展 活 動 , 以 擴 闊 觀 眾 層 面 , 期 間 吸 引 了 超 過
1,300 名 參 加 者 出 席 ;
- 運 用 場 地 舉 辦 活 動 和 其 他 聯 合 推 廣 計 劃 , 吸 引 公 司 和 私 人 贊 助 ;
- 推 出 教 育 和 導 賞 計 劃 , 鼓 勵 社 區 參 與 藝 術 活 動 。
港 芭 曾 舉 辦 《 舞 若 色 》、《 夢 偶 情 緣 》、《 胡 桃 夾 子 》 及 以 香 港 芭 蕾 舞 團 30 周 年 為 主 題 展 覽 , 而 《 吉 賽 爾 》、《 巴 赫 · 芭 蕾 》
和 《 天 鵝 湖 》 等 則 舉 辦 了 講 座 和 演 前 導 賞 。 此 外 , 港 芭 亦 舉 辦 了 青 少 年 計 劃 , 在 70 多 位 報 名 的 芭 蕾 舞 學 生 中 選 取 了 58
人 , 讓 他 們 在 為 期 4 天 的 創 意 芭 蕾 工 作 坊 中 體 驗 職 業 舞 蹈 員 的 生 活 。
Exhibitions on the ballet programmes Tricolor, Coppélia and The Nutcracker, and The Hong Kong Ballet
30 th Anniversary, were mounted. Lectures and pre-performance talks were also delivered for programmes
like Giselle and All Bach, Swan Lake, among others. A special Youth Intensive Programme, of which
teenagers can experience the life of a professional dancer through a four-day creative ballet workshop,
attracted applications from over 70 ballet students. Fifty-eight dancers were eventually selected.
The Hong Kong Cultural Centre, under the Venue Partnership Scheme, became a performing base
for the Company
