• A Registration Authority (RA) is an authority in a
network that verifies user request for a digital certificate
and tells the Certificate Authority (CA) to issue
certificate.
• RA & GARUDA Contact Person (GCP) are used as
Synonyms
• GARUDA Management has identified from each
partners Institute, 1 or more GARUDA Contact
Persons, who act as RA from the Partners side.

Certificate Authority

• GARUDA Certificate Authority (CA) issues final
GARUDA certificate.
• A certificate is a digital document that certifies that a
certain public key is owned by a particular user. This
document is signed by Certificate Authority (CA).
• CA will send the information about the requestor to
RA.
• CA will have no knowledge about the requestor & will
wait for the GCP’s advice.
