Dear MDC Members,<br />
The holiday season is upon us and allow me to be one of the first to<br />
wish you all a joyful and safe season. The Year End Awards banquet was held<br />
on November 6 th and there was plenty of good food and company. The only<br />
improvement would have been all of our members gathering together, but life<br />
happens. The MDC Board would like to congratulate all of our members for their<br />
accomplishments this year. I would especially like to congratulate Stacey<br />
Lawrence and her fabulous 8 th place performance at the USDF Region 2<br />
Championships. The competition was stiff, but Stacey and Whisper An Ekko<br />
rode a test to be proud of, and I’m sure they are looking forward to next year.<br />
Member Pattie Varner finished off the evening with another wonderful “Year in<br />
Pictures” slideshow. There were classy photos, humorous photos and photos that<br />
brought a couple of tears, and we thank you Pattie for another memorable show.<br />
I would also like to thank the 2010 MDC Board for all of their hard work this<br />
year. It was a pleasure to work with all of you. I have been given the opportunity<br />
to serve the MDC membership for 2011 as President, for which I thank you, and I<br />
know the 2011 Board will continue to keep MDC going strong. Our new Vice<br />
President is Pattie Varner, Jolene Simons will remain Secretary, Dorota Janik is<br />
our new Treasurer/Membership Chair, Cindy Bellina is the new Points person,<br />
Elizabeth Grainger will remain as Newsletter Editor and Tom Wright will continue<br />
to do the Website.<br />

MDC would like to congratulate Nancy Spear, Region 2 GMO Coordinator on winning<br />
the Dressage Foundations Carol Lavell Gifted Scholarship for Region 2 Adult Amateurs.<br />
Each recipient will receive a $1,000 Scholarship to enable them to set aside quality time in concentrated<br />
training with a horse they own, with a trainer of choice, away from the daily pressures of job and family.<br />
Nancy Spear (IL) and her horses, Guinevere and Festus, plan to train with Ed Rothkranz.<br />
Nancy is a member of Little Egypt Dressage Association and CenterLine Dressage.<br />
Looking for a Horse- The Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) is looking for a "bomb proof"<br />
horse that is in excellent health for use in our therapeutic riding program. TEC is located in<br />
Watervliet, Michigan. Must have a temperament to work with different people and able to be<br />
