In Psalm 110:4 the
prophecy is made of the
Messiah, that He will be a priest
for ever after the order of
Melchizedek. Combined with
prophecies (as above, in Ps.22)
of His death, this becomes a
prophecy of His resurrection.
If we read Psalm 118:22 as
simply a prophecy of the
rejection of Christ, we may miss
the inner meaning - the
rejected stone becomes the
head stone of the corner.
When does this occur? His
rejection resulted in His
crucifixion. His becoming the
head stone of the corner occurs
afterwards. So this infers His
resurrection.
