Writers’ Theatre Names Stuart Carden<br />
Associate Artistic Director<br />
Writers’ Theatre in Chicago has<br />
appointed Stuart Carden associate artistic<br />
director.<br />
“I'm thrilled to be back home in the<br />
thriving Chicago theatre community as<br />
Writers' Theatre's new associate artistic<br />
director,” said Carden.<br />
Carden joins Writers’ Theatre as associate<br />
artistic director after two seasons<br />
Stuart Carden<br />
at City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh<br />
where he was associate artistic director. As a new play specialist,<br />
Stuart has helped to develop more than 30 plays, 12 of which he<br />
directed in their world premiere productions. Notable regional,<br />
U.S., and world premieres include works by Martin Crimp, David<br />
Henry Hwang, Tristine Skyler, Jeffrey Hatcher, Shishir Kurup,<br />
Richard Dresser and Yussef El Guindi.<br />

of Barrel of Monkeys theatre<br />
company in Chicago.<br />
An arts administrator for<br />
almost a decade, Farrar<br />
received her Master of<br />
Arts Management from<br />
Columbia College Chicago.<br />
For the past two years she<br />
has been Remy Bumppo’s<br />
Amanda Farrar<br />
director of development,<br />
and before that was development and communications<br />
associate at housing options, a nonprofit providing<br />
homes to adults with mental illness.<br />

Jordan Roth Succeeds Rocco Landesman as President of Jujamcyn Theaters<br />
Producer Jordan Roth has succeeded Rocco Landesman<br />
as President of Jujamcyn Theaters, the owner and operator<br />
of five major Broadway theatres. Roth, 33, takes over<br />
leadership of the organization which Landesman presided<br />
over from 1987 until his recent confirmation as Chairman<br />
of the National Endowment for the Arts on August 7. Roth<br />
is also acquiring a 50% ownership interest in the privately<br />
held company.
