Dharakeswari is an all rounder. She not only
excel in academics both also in sports. She
won Third and First prize consecutively from
2011 to 2015. She won first prize in 800 mts
and second prize in 400mts.She has presented
papers at various college like prathyusha,
RMK, Velammal Institute .She won 3rd prize at
HOD speaks up...
Our students of Electronics and
Instrumentation Department have a
remarkable range of talents both in
the academic arena and in the arts,
sport and leadership. In our pursuit
of nurturing the whole , our Department

BEST STUDENT AWARD
a National conference and 2 nd
prize at a Symposium at JNN
college. She was one of the
finalist in the Indo- American
debate held at Queens Marys
College. She presented her
project at Velammal engineering
college and Jeppiar engineering college.
She was a Coordinator for the
circuit debugging event. She was
coordinator for academic events. She
was placed in two companies, Cognizant
and Wipro.

Workshop
Three Day National Workshop On Hands-On Experience In Arduino
An educational seminar or series

interaction and exchange of
information to students and faculty
Dr.V.R.Ravi, Professor, EIE organized a
3 day workshop for faculty and final
year students of EIE on 30 th Dec 2014,
31 st Dec 2014 and 2 nd Jan 2015. The
ARDUINO-UNO is a developer board
whose features were explored and
then basic experiments were dealt
using IDE support package in MATLAB.
Knowledge on Interfacing of temperature
sensors, ultrasonic sensors,
proximity sensors , seven segment
LED, LCD display with the ARDUINO
board was imparted. In addition to
this, ADAFRUIT motor shield with DC,
Stepper, Servo motors was also utilized
for the demonstration.
AURDINO WORKSHOP
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop took place for three
days from November 1 to 3, 2014 and
was coordinated by Mr.K.V.Kandasamy
and Mr.B.Raj Narain.
This workshop imparted knowledge on
ARM microcontrollers in connection
with real time applications in various
fields of Engineering & Technology. The
workshop covered basic working of
ARM processors, Compiler, debugger
and to give an exposure in embedded
ARM MICRO CONTROLLER WORKSHOP
C using ARM.
Around 26 members participated
including PG students and faculty
members.

Faculty Development Programme on Digital System Design
Dr.N.Bharathi and Mr.C.V.Dayakar jointly organized a
Faculty development programme on “ Digital System
Design “ from 12 th December 2014 to 18 th December 2014.
The programme highlighted all recent trends in the field
allied with innovative programming knowledge input along
with five units of the subject and participants
about 25 both internal and external found it very effective.

HIGHLIGHTS OF PLACEMENT -YEAR 2014-2015
Many big companies have visited our
college for recruitment this year.
Around 127 students were placed at
different companies and the details
are:
15 students have been placed in ZOHO
with a starting salary of 4.5 lakhs. 36
students were placed at COGNIZANT
TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS. 3 of our
students have been recruited by L&T
INFOTECH, 2 by CAPGEMI..Rest have
been placed in companies like WIPRO,
CTS, INFOSYS.

has participated in CM parade
on 26th January 2015.The parade was
from Light House on Beach road to
Madras University. He was one of the
representatives from our college
among 9 colleges that participated.EIE
department is proud of him.
Swetha.B,Solai and M,Girija of EIE
department have joined their hands
with an NGO organization “ADORE
INDIA”.They visited “Singaram Pillai”
Govt aided school and addressed
Class 5 students .They conducted a
an interactive session ,quiz, fun activites
and encouraged them to speak in
English about themselves and how to
keep INDIA clean. The volunteers were
impressed by students who showcased
their drawings.at the end of
session .

this question you can say something

become an extrovert while if there is
some serious issue under discussion, I
think quietly and deeply.

This answer needs to be answered
tactfully, They want to know whether
you are going to stay for long or you
are just there to use their training

Photography
Long-exposure photography or time
-exposure photography involves
using a long-duration shutter speed to
sharply capture the stationary elements
of images while blurring,
smearing, or obscuring the moving
elements.
In photography and optics, a neutral
density filter or ND filter is
a filter that reduces or modifies the
intensity of all wavelengths
or colors of light equally, giving no
changes in hue of color rendition. For
example, one might wish to photograph
a waterfall at a slow shutter
speed to create a deliberate motion
blur effect. The photographer might
determine that to obtain the desired
effect a shutter speed of ten seconds
was needed.
SHOWCASE OF BUDDING TALENTS
On a very bright day, there might be
so much light that even at minimum
film speed and a minimum aperture,
the ten-second shutter speed
would let in too much light and the
photo would be overexposed. In this
situation, applying an appropriate
neutral-density filter is the equivalent
of stopping down one or more additional
stops, allowing for the slower
shutter speed and the desired motionblur
effect.
High-dynamic-range imaging
(HDRI or HDR) is a set of techniques
used in imaging
and photography to reproduce a
greater dynamic
range of luminosity than standard
digital imaging or photographic techniques
can do. The aim is to present
the human eye with a similar range
of luminance as that which, through
the visual system, is familiar in everyday
life. The human eye,
through adaptation of the iris (and
other methods) adjusts constantly to
the huge dynamic changes ubiquitous
in our environment. The brain continuously
interprets this information so
that most of us can see in a wide
range of light conditions. Most cameras,
on the other hand, cannot.

STUDENTS CORNER
Ganesha also known as Ganapati and
Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and
most worshipped deities in the Hindu
pantheon. His image is found throughout
India Hindu sects worship him regardless
of affiliations. Although he is known by
many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head
makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is
widely revered as the remover of obstacles,
the patron of arts and sciences and
the deva of intellect and wisdom.
