Tsokar Lake (above)
Photographed by Mayur Channagere
Shot details:
Canon EOS 400D
with 18-55mm
lens at 18mm,
1/500sec, ISO 100
“Tsokar lake (16,500 ft) is
located in Ladhak region of
India. With rich salt deposits
(Tsokar means salt water)
on the wet marshy lands and
frozen ice floating slowly, it was
unlike anything I expected”
“What a dramatic landscape and expertly captured. Many would
have included more of the lake but just filling half the foreground
with it and using the foreground was worked really well”
Paradise Cove (below)
Photographed by Garon Kiesel
Shot details:
Nikon D3 with
24mm lens at
24mm and f8, 13
sec, ISO 200
“I had just purchased a Nikon
D3 and decided to take it
on a test run. I headed for
the coast and managed
to capture this image just
before the light faded”
“I love the peaceful pastel colours of this scene. It is all
so calm and yet the bridge leads to nowhere, so there
is no need to rush”
