1. Aim and Objective of the Organisation<br />

The main aim and objective of the organisation is to monitor, supervision of the Gram<br />

Panchayat administration in the District.<br />

2.Mission / Vision.<br />

To ensure utilisation of funds, implementation development works, proper working of<br />

Gram Panchayats in the G.Ps.<br />

3.Brief history of the public authority and context of its formation.<br />

District Panchayat Office headed by the District Panchayat Officer is the part and parcel<br />

of the Collectorate and and functioning in order to assist the Collector in respect of G.P<br />

administration. District Panchayat Officer is appointed by the Director, PanchayatiRaj<br />

Deptt., Govt. of Orissa .<br />

4. Duties of the public authority.<br />

Inspection , supervision of G.P offices, monitor proper working of the Gram Panchayats<br />

and assist the Collector of the <strong>dist</strong>rict in all statutory works as provided in Orissa Gram<br />

Panchayat Act, 1964, O.G.P. Rules 1968 and Orissa G.P / P.S/ Z.P Election Rules .<br />

5.Main activities/functions of the public authority<br />

a) Inspection of G.P Offices<br />

b) Supervision on working of the G.Ps and Developemental activities of the G.Ps<br />

c) Assist in conduct of PRI Elections/ By-Elections<br />

d) Disbursement of grant-in aids received from the Govt<br />

e) Submission of Utilisation Certificates on the Grant in aids released to G.Ps<br />

f) Establishment matters relating to the staff of District Panchayat Office<br />

g) Establishment matters on field officials like GPEO/PA and VLWs<br />

h) Training/Capacity building programme of PRI members .

9.Office Location<br />

At present the office of the District Panchayat Office is functioning in the old DRDA<br />

Building of the DRDA Office premises, <strong>Cuttack</strong>.10.Working Hour of the Office<br />

The working hour is from 10.00 AM to 5.00 P.M of each day except Sundays and<br />

other Govt. holidays both for office and public.<br />
