My affiliation with BDO started four years ago when I was doing my ACCA final professional exam.
Based on my research and discussion with my friends, I decided to accept the offer from BDO instead
of larger firms as I felt that BDO was the right place for me to apply my vast commercial financial
reporting experience and at the same time gain audit experience. BDO offered me generous study/
exam leave which was very important at that time as I was preparing for the ACCA final exam.
The highly motivated workforce and learning culture in BDO set it apart from other firms. The firm’s
strong commitment towards its employees is something that has left a deep impression on me. My
great experience at BDO stems from the culture in BDO which challenges your limits and potential as
you are exposed to various learning and working opportunities.

BDO is one of the best firms to work for, simply because of the job exposure
to young graduates. I was inspired by a young partner from BDO, Jocelyn Goh,
during my ACCA graduation ceremony. Seeing how a young woman could attain
such level of success in the company, led me to believe that there is always the
opportunity of obtaining the same successful career if we try.
When I was just a newbie in the company, I had good training. Not only did my
peers help me out whenever I was in a situation; even my superiors gave me
support. ACCA trained me well in dealing with the real working environment,
skills which I now use at BDO for analytical thinking and problem solving.
I deeply appreciate the opportunities given to me
to take part in the various job assignments. Truly
my life in BDO has never been less enjoyable.

I am into my eighth year with BDO’s
Business Restructuring and Forensic
team in Singapore. During these
couple of years, BDO has evolved
into one of the more prominent
players in its industry. One of the
major contributing factors is BDO’s
global network which, as of today,

The global infrastructure as well as
the close proximity within which
member firms work together has
allowed me to gain in-depth
knowledge and experience of how
overseas firms and businesses function
in today’s international market.
BDO also embraces staff development as
one of its priorities. BDO has continued to
recruit and train staff who have completed
or are still in the midst of pursuing their
ACCA qualifications. The BDO structured
training programs, in areas of technical knowledge
and soft skills, have benefited me greatly and
equipped me with the “practical know-how” to
discharge my duties more efficiently and effectively.
At BDO, we take pride in delivering quality work to our clients and meeting their objectives. Being part of a
global professional firm like BDO, coupled with the knowledge and experience of being an ACCA member, work
hand in hand to instill much needed confidence in clients needing restructuring of their businesses.
I recall the days when I was taking
the ACCA part-time while having to
work as an accountant. Studying
and at the same time coping
with the demands of work had
been difficult back then. However,
the ACCA has provided me a platform
to work in an international organisation
like BDO. Working in BDO has been a
lot of fun. Given a wide spectrum of
exposure and opportunities to travel,
this has definitely widened my work
and life experience. The learning curve
has been very steep at the initial stages
but the challenges are very rewarding. The
intangible value derived from team work is
