<strong>LCI</strong>’s EXD-<strong>100</strong> <strong>Radial</strong> <strong>Extruder</strong> is a<br />
pilot / small scale production twin<br />
screw extruder that converts wetted<br />
powders into pellets of controlled<br />
size and shape.<br />
Integrated controls are<br />
mounted on an<br />
articulating arm.<br />

Operation<br />
The wet mixture is separately prepared,<br />
typically using a kneader or a pug mixer<br />
(available from <strong>LCI</strong>), and metered into<br />
the feed hopper. Twin screws transport<br />
the wet material to the extrusion zone<br />
where it is wiped through perforated<br />
screens by tapered extrusion blades<br />
to produce well formed cylindrical<br />
extrudates of a controlled diameter.<br />
Extrudates break off (by their own<br />
weight) and are collected for the next<br />
processing step.<br />
