The All-New Kia Sorento is a ground-breaking SUV combining 7-seat space,
agility and comfort in one stylish package. There are 4 models in the new range
comprising the ‘KX-1’, ‘KX-2’, ‘KX-3’ and the range topping ‘KX-4’. The range
builds on the heritage of its popular predecessor whilst boasting a long bonnet,
low roofline and swept-back silhouette which all contribute to its dynamic
proportions and sleek design.
All models have stylish alloy wheels and roof rails which not only create a
sophisticated yet contemporary look but have a practical purpose too as they help
free up more space inside the cabin. All models also feature front and rear fog
lights, stylish privacy glass and the convenience of electrically folding, adjustable
and heated door mirrors with LED indicators which make it easier to park in
tight spaces. In addition to the aesthetic appeal of the LED’s they also illuminate
quicker, last longer and are more energy efficient than conventional bulbs

volume or change stations without taking your hands off the steering wheel thanks to the intuitively placed steering

helps you controls. Similarly with the cruise control your speed simply by pressing the ergonomically designed button on

Taking in-car entertainment to the next level, the ‘KX-3’ upwards feature a brand new high-definition 8” LCD touchscreen. This
sat nav also features the new Infinity ® premium sound system with 10 speakers including a 4” central speaker, external amp and
subwoofer for superior sound quality. This has been perfectly tuned to provide excellent sound quality in all driving conditions.
As soon as you put your car into reverse gear, the 8” touchscreen changes to give you a clear view of what’s behind – making parking

Adaptive Cruise Control (‘KX-4’)
A first for the All-New Kia Sorento is the adaptive cruise control
which is a standard feature on the range-topping ‘KX-4’.
This feature uses a radar sensor at the front of the vehicle to
monitor the distance to the vehicle ahead. To keep a set, safe
distance, the system will apply the brakes and even stop the
car, until the vehicle ahead proceeds.

For rear passenger comfort, all models boast rear air ventilation –
passengers in the rear can adjust the air-flow via the controls mounted
at the back of the floor console. A USB charging port and 12V outlet
are also situated in the rear to be able to charge your portable devices

Once inside, you are met with a unique sense of space as the All-New Sorento feels cavernous boasting plenty of leg and headroom. The
interior has been re-designed to offer exceptionally high levels of quality and generous use of soft touch materials throughout the cabin. For
passenger comfort, air conditioning is standard on the ‘KX-1’ whilst the rest of the range features dual automatic air conditioning with an
ioniser which detects and eliminates odours making for a healthier and more pleasant journey. The range-topping ’KX-4’ features retractable
rear side window blinds so passengers in the rear stay cool on warm days and this feature also adds privacy.

Intelligent Thinking
All new Sorento models are available with Kia’s advanced EcoDynamics
technology. This fuel-stretching Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) technology can help
save up to 12% more fuel and reduce your carbon footprint – simply by cutting the
vehicle’s engine off whenever the car is stationary. When you come to a stop, select neutral
and remove your foot from the clutch and the engine will re-start instantly. All elements work
together to create what we call ‘EcoDynamics’. Clever stuff!
This means reduced fuel consumption and lower CO 2 emissions – from just 149 g/km on the
‘KX-1’ 2.2. litre CRDi (diesel) engine which saves you money and helps the environment too.
ISG does not operate where there is excessive drain on the vehicle’s battery. During winter months use of headlights, the heated rear screen and other electrical loads may inhibit ISG.

Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) technology
The All-New Sorento features a maximum towing capacity of 2,500kg (transmission dependent) and makes light work of pulling
anything from trailers to caravans, or even a horsebox. The ‘KX-2’ upwards feature self-levelling suspension amongst their
standard specification. This feature means the vehicle height automatically adjusts depending on how many people or how much
luggage has been loaded in order to improve driving stability. This is also used to assist when towing trailers, keeping the vehicle
level despite the additional weight of the trailer/caravan.
Inspired by rugged terrain, the All-New Sorento’s All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) technology is designed to make everyday driving more
comfortable. All-Wheel-Drive means in normal driving conditions, the vehicle remains in standard 2WD mode to boost fuel economy
but faced with more adverse weather conditions, the AWD system anticipates the need for greater traction and automatically
engages. The innovative, continuously active AWD ensures the All-New Sorento maintains excellent traction on rough, loose or
slippery surfaces and helps improve lateral stability when cornering.

The All-New Sorento range is fitted with six airbags as standard – driver,
front passenger, front side and curtain airbags which help minimise the risk
of injury in the event of a collision.

Uncompromised safety credentials
At the crash test laboratories of Kia Motors’ Namyang Research and Development Centre, we undertake
rigorous testing for a wide range of motor accident scenarios. From the early phase of development we create
computer simulations to predict a vehicle’s safety and up to 100 crash tests of the vehicle are performed prior
to launch. The All-New Sorento range is fitted with all-round 3-point seatbelts, whilst ISOFIX child seat top
tethers and anchor fixings are fitted as standard in the rear to protect younger passengers on-board.
Rack Mounted Motor Driven Power Steering (R-MDPS)
A firm, solid feel and unprecedented steering response are
simultaneously achieved with R-MDPS.
ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
The Brake Assist System (BAS) detects emergency braking
depending on how quickly you brake. It instantly applies full
braking force which helps shorten the overall braking distance.
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)
Hill-start Assist Control prevents you from rolling backwards
when starting on a steep hill.
Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)
Vehicle Stability Management helps minimise over or understeer
in adverse weather conditions.
Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS)
This feature causes the brake lights to flash simultaneously
followed by the hazard warning lights in the event of the
vehicle braking sharply, helping to avoid collisions by warning
following traffic.

If the All-New Sorento senses a car in your
blind spot, the blind spot detection system
triggers a visual warning. If the driver tries to
change lane whilst a car is in the blind spot,
the system sounds an audio alert
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) –
‘KX-4’
In conjunction with the Blind Spot Detection
system, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert will assist
the driver when reversing into crossing traffic.
When reverse gear is engaged, RCTA will
monitor for any crossing traffic and provide
a visual warning in the left or right exterior
door mirror which is accompanied by an
audible sound. The system is able to detect
cars, motorcycles and even shopping trolleys
although the detection zone varies (car 20m,
motorcycle 15m and a shopping trolley 10m).
