ROTC Scholarship Program<br />
The Department of the Army grants scholarships<br />
to selected outstanding students enrolled in the<br />
ROTC Program. The scholarships, ranging from<br />
two to five years, include full tuition and<br />
laboratory fees, approximately $1,200 a year for<br />
textbooks, and a living allowance of up to $5,000<br />
per semester or $10,000 for each academic year<br />
that the scholarship is in effect. In addition,<br />
ROTC scholarship students receive<br />
approximately $750 for attending Leadership<br />
Development and Assessment Course.<br />
Organizations<br />
Pershing Rifle Society: This military society<br />
was organized at the University during the 1958-<br />
59 school years. It takes pride in its membership<br />
and strives for leadership, sharpness, neatness,<br />
and individual and unit achievements. Its<br />
members are carefully selected by a Board of<br />
senior members. The Precision Drill Team is an<br />
integral part of the Society. The Pershing Rifle<br />
Society is recognized throughout the US as<br />
Company P-16 of the 16th Regiment.<br />
Association of the United States Army (AUSA):<br />
This Society, organized at the University in<br />
1959, is open to all cadets. AUSA has assumed<br />
the basic task of enhancing the public image of<br />
the ROTC through civil activities and public<br />
information campaigns. AUSA participates in<br />
annual Blood and Cancer Fund Drives, high<br />
school orientations, and other civic action<br />
projects. The Sponsor Platoon is responsible for<br />
civil activities, public information, and<br />
recruiting. The Bulldog Platoon is responsible<br />
for operational plans and training. AUSA is<br />
recognized throughout the US by the designation<br />
of Bulldog Company.<br />
Program. It improves leadership and<br />
management abilities, as well as the English<br />
language proficiency of its members insuring<br />
their success in the ROTC Program, at Advanced<br />
Camp, and as commissioned officers. It also<br />
supports the ROTC program at detachment<br />
ceremonies, demonstrations, and recruiting/<br />
retention activities.<br />

Rangers is a military society which develops<br />

order to complement the tactical training and<br />
leadership training offered by the ROTC<br />
