17.10 DLI Implementation and Reference Guide That lookalike will not be suitable for precise typography, but should be acceptable for web-delivery documents. NOTE: Only fonts using characters in the Adobe standard encodings (Standard, WinAnsi and MacRoman) can be fauxed correctly. Attempting to do this with fonts containing characters outside the range of standard encodings will result in a bad display. Set the PD_STD_ENCODING font flag in the PDEFontAttrs structure to indicate that the font uses only "standard" characters. FontVerification This application is useful for creating a quick-reference table of fonts available to your application. It compiles a directory of all fonts found in the current resource listing, including a hyperlinked Table of Contents and a sample listing, font dump and encoding grid page for every font found. Samples and Links 17.11 basic font creation using DLI, and displays the fonts which the Adobe PDF Library was able to locate on the host system. NOTE: On machines with lengthy resource listings (i.e. numerous fonts available), this application may take a minute or two to complete. Some time may elapse before any completion messages appear onscreen. For each single-byte Type 1 or TrueType font found, a font will be created in DLI with the same name and type. Each character of a target encoding will then be displayed in a grid formation, to verify proper font creation. Fonts of other types (e.g. MultiMaster fonts, Type 0 fonts) will be noted in the Table of Contents, but not used for font creation. See the source code comments in Fontverification.c for more information on how the resource lists are compiled, and what options are available for maintaining them and controlling how they are compiled.
