Getting Started 1.15
who wish to use larger graphics cache files are advised to supply a filesystem to dlpdfinit which is
capable of reliably handling files of the larger size.
dlpdfdoccreate
This call no longer accepts a PostScript filename. (Use dlpdfdocsetpsname, or supply one to
dlpdfdocwritePS.) The PDFNeeded flag has been removed; PDF processing is always performed. It
accepts one parameter, the DLPDFINSTANCE to use for the document.
dlpdfterm
This call now removes memory files used for the dlpdfttload call if the Files In Memory system is
used, and if these files are no longer in use.
Deleted Functions
dlpdfdocsevenbitsafe
This method was not able to guarantee a PDF output stream safe for a seven-bit channel. The PDF
specification refers to PDF as a binary format, and expects that consumers are able to accept a binary
input stream.
dlpdfdocHexGraphics
was an API for debugging graphic output. In the DLI v2.2.x series, this was disabled.
dlpdfdocsetformsascontent
...and...
dlpdfimageplaceascontent
...were not able to generate correct PDF output for some imported PDF files. This functionality was not
widely used, and these methods have been removed.
dlpdfdocsetembedappwidth
This method has been removed as fonts will, with the exception of the "standard" 14 fonts, always have
their widths included in the PDF font if the font is present on the system on which a job is run, or if these
widths are supplied to DLI.
