F-Range Type L-850D/E Style 2 Inset Lights Description Section 2 Description 1. Introduction This section describes the ADB Airfield Solutions F-Range Type L-850D/E, Style 2 inset lights referred to in Table 2-1. Table 2-1 L-850D/E Light Fixture Design Functions Inset Light Fixture Design Function L-850D (FAA) Combined threshold and runway end With 2 red & 1 green prisms L-850E Threshold and threshold wing bars L-850D (Military) Combined threshold and runway end With 1 red & 2 green prisms See Figures 2-1 and 2-2 for the L-850D inset light. See Figures 2-3 and 2-4 for the L-850E inset light. The 12-inch L-850D/E F-Range inset light fixtures are designed to mark the runway ends and threshold. The L-850D can be supplied as a bidirectional or unidirectional fixture, whereas the L- 850E is supplied only as a unidirectional fixture. They are manufactured in accordance with FAA specification AC 150/5345-46B, Style 2 (≤ 0.50 inches height above grade) and the photometric requirements of the latest edition of ICAO Annex 14.
