Houston Yu Gr 8<br />
Houston Yu played for the Western Province U14 A team at<br />
the SAJCC in Kimberley, between 3 January - & January<br />
2015. His team won Gold, and he was the board winner with<br />
6.5 out of 7.<br />
Houston then went on to participate<br />
in the 2014 SA Wildcard individual<br />
event in Kimberley, between 8<br />
January – 11 January 2015. He<br />
came 6th and qualified for the 2015<br />
SA Chess Closed Championships in<br />
Pretoria in April 2015.<br />
He then went on to play in the 2015 WP Schools’ Chess North District<br />
Trials at the <strong>Fairmont</strong> High School competition, on 6 & 7 February. He<br />
won 3 rd place and received the bronze medal. He has qualified for the<br />
2015 WP Schools Chess Tournament to be held in March.<br />
Well done, Houston, and good luck for the next tournament.<br />
Kyle de Wet Gr 11<br />
Kyle scored just over a century in the recent<br />
game against Fairbairn.<br />
He was presented with a miniature cricket bat,<br />
signed by Mr Dingley and the rest of his team<br />
playing that day.<br />
Well done, Kyle! We look forward to your next<br />
century.<br />

16) PRINCIPAL<br />
At a special meeting today, we congratulated our Grade 10’s on their fine performance in the<br />
Systemic Tests of 2014 where they received the best Improvement in English and Maths.<br />
Well done Grade 10’s! Keep up the good work.<br />
We wish all our cricket followers a good weekend as you either visit Newlands or watch the 3 rd Test<br />
on T.V.<br />
