Responsibilities: Primary rotation responsibilities at DePelchin Children’s Center, a National Child Traumatic Stress Network member, included: conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations with children, assisting in implementing a new trauma grant, providing therapy for adolescents in an inpatient setting, and outpatient therapy for children and families (e.g., social thinking groups for children with autism, anger management groups, Trauma-Focused CBT). Other responsibilities involved: providing outpatient therapy at the Baylor College of Medicine to families, medical students, and sex offenders. _________________________________________________________________________ RESEARCH EXPERIENCE July 2009 – Current Postdoctoral Scholar University of California, San Diego / Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) Project: System of Care Evaluation Supervisor: Ann Garland, Ph.D.
3 As a postdocotoral scholar for the Systems of Care Evaluation, primary responsibilities include: planning, conducting, and analyzing service use and clinical outcome evaluation data for children’s mental health care. Additional responsibilities involve: providing consultation to the County of San Diego Children’s Mental Health Services regarding data collection, analysis, interpretation and the translation of these research findings for use in policy and practice decision-making. June 2006 - June 2008 Primary Investigator, NRSA F31 Dissertation Grant Efficacy of Treatments for Sexually Abused Children: A Meta-Analysis Department of Psychology University of Nebraska-Lincoln Supervisor: David DiLillo, Ph.D The primary objectives of this National Institutes of Health funded project included: conducting a comprehensive meta-analysis of the efficacy of psychological and behavioral treatments for sexually abused children; investigating treatment characteristics (e.g., theoretical approach to treatment, treatment modality, type of study design) that may moderate the efficacy of interventions for children with a history of sexual abuse; and examining the impact of the participant characteristics of age, gender, and ethnicity on treatment outcomes. June 2005 - May 2006 Graduate Research Assistant University of Nebraska Public Policy Center Supervisor: Mark DeKraai, JD, Ph.D The Public Policy Center provides assistance to policymakers and researchers at the local, state, and federal levels. Responsibilities ranged from analyzing results of an online survey to interviewing research participants for a public engagement project on pandemic influenza. The online project consisted of creating a database, coding variables, running the statistical analyses, as well as completing a qualitative analysis. Other responsibilities involved serving as a graduate research assistant for the Early Childhood Mental Health subcommittee of a State Infrastructure grant. August 2004 - May 2005 Project Coordinator Newlywed Project NIMH-Funded Project (5K01MH066365-05) University of Nebraska-Lincoln Supervisor and Principal Investigator: David DiLillo, Ph.D. The Newlywed Project is a longitudinal study examining how early life experiences (e.g., child maltreatment) impact adult functioning, particularly within a marriage. Responsibilities included running the day-to-day aspects of the project; supervising two teams of undergraduate research assistants; creating study protocols; interviewing participants; and implementing a Social Support Coding System.
