4.5 There is little or no evidence for cultivati<strong>on</strong> with associated settlement at high altitude.<br />

However, sheepfolds were frequently found, and occasi<strong>on</strong>al freestanding enclosures.<br />

4.6 The ‘Religious, Ritual and Funerary’ classificati<strong>on</strong> is subject to <strong>the</strong> usual caveats surrounding<br />

<strong>the</strong> identificati<strong>on</strong> of what are mainly cairns as of ritual significance. In practice, this classificati<strong>on</strong><br />

is perhaps somewhat inflated above <strong>the</strong> true figure.<br />
