Thank-you to everyone who supported Operation Christmas Child this
year. We contributed 38 boxes with the postage paid. Thanks to those
who took the time to pack a box and to those who generously gave money
to cover the donations. We pray that the children who receive these boxes
will be blessed.
The offering that the Sunday School Classes have been collecting is for
orphans in Haiti. When the Youth Group goes to Haiti this summer on their
mission trip, they will be packing extra supplies for the children in the
orphanage- items like balls, jump ropes, craft items, etc...We are excited
that we can all work together to give to these children in need.
Christian Home Newsletters are available for pick up on the shelf in the
narthex, please feel free to help yourself.
Brother Bob’s Outreach has had several requests for pen pals and they are
in need of people that are interested in helping with this outreach program. If
you feel the call to participate in this please contact Gladys either by
remember to bring along a $5 gift for the gift exchange.
MOPS December meeting & Christmas party is this Thursday, December
13th from 6:30-8:30 here at First CRC.
At this time our church library is rarely used. So as of Dec. 2, 2012 there
will no longer be scheduled library hours. The books and DVDs that are in
our library will stay and they may be taken out on the honor system and
returned when you are finished with them. There will be basket for returned
items and a library committee person will return them to the shelves.
We are looking for some people to lead the children's message. If you are
willing to lead about once a month please contact Pastor Craig.
Cadets will meet Wednesday, December 5 from 6:30PM-8:00PM at the
Union.
This coming summer we, as a church, will be taking two vision trips to
Haiti, where we will offer God's love to children without parents. One of the
greatest gifts that we have to share with them is God's love. Those who
come along will be able to serve in a soup kitchen in the slums, experience
a Haitian worship service, and play with children. If you are interested there
is information in the narthex across from the mailboxes. You can also talk to
Pastor Craig or one of the other youth leaders. Please begin praying for this
door that God has opened for us.

Anyone interested in caroling please meet at the church on Wednesday,
December 20 th at 6:00 PM. We plan to go to Prairie Ridge, Christian Home
brainstorm ways to incorporate prayer into our communal and personal
lives. You are welcome to join us every Tuesday morning for prayer starting
at 8:00am in the large catechism room upstairs.
2013 CRWM Calendars: In an effort to be more stewardly with the funds
entrusted to it, CRWM is distributing most of its 2013 calendars through
CRC churches. If you did not receive a calendar in the mail you can pick
one up on the shelf in the narthex.
This year, World Renew and the CRC Office of Social Justice invite you
and your congregation to join us during Advent through daily email
devotions. Together we will enter in to the light of God’s redemptive,
kingdom work as we journey through the Advent season. You can sign up
for these free devotions at www.crcjustice.org. In each day’s entry, you will
read stories of light in the face of darkness and be encouraged to seek
justice in our "already but not yet" world. This is the fourth year we have
offered this resource to members of the Christian Reformed Church, and
we’ve heard from several people on how blessed they have been by taking
part. I hope you will consider joining us this year.
