4 Plano Annual Balloon Festival
Every September, for over three decades now, Plano
has played host to the Annual Balloon Festival. In
fact, Plano is officially known as “The Hot Air Balloon
Capital of Texas.” It is a special time when fall is in
the air and a hundred or more brightly colored hot
air ships gracefully rise into the sky. For three days, it
seems all eyes in town are fixed on the wildest blue
yonder imaginable. Balloons. Skydivers. Fireworks.
Concerts. A Kids Fun Zone. And a Festival Marketplace
filled with fantastic arts, crafts and food vendors. The
sky’s the limit. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be lucky
enough to catch a ride in one those beautiful balloons.
