Function
Protects against spam and viruses at the gateway by scanning all inbound and
outbound email and allowing policies to be set.
Anti-spam module
• Genotype spam detection technology proactively blocks families of spam
campaigns.
• Reputation filtering blocks email from known bad senders at the MTA or policy level.
• Content scanning technology cleans up and deconstructs complex, disguised
messages.
• Weighted tests include URL analysis and multilingual heuristic tests.
• Automatic tuning adjusts the weighting of tests to catch campaigns designed to
bypass a single, popular filtering technique.
Anti-virus module
• A range of technologies, including Dynamic Code Analysis, pattern matching,
emulation and heuristics, automatically check for malicious code.
• Genotype virus detection technology proactively blocks families of viruses.
• Threat reduction technology blocks existing and new email-borne threats by
allowing administrators to stop:
- files by type, name or extension, even if the extension has been changed.
- all messages with a specific subject line.
- all mass mailings sent to more than a specified number of recipients.
Extended policy module
• Allows different policies to be configured for sub-groups within your organisation.
• Scans message attributes for specific keywords, phrases or patterns.
• Re-routes inbound/outbound messages to individuals or third-party systems.
• Tags messages when triggered by custom policies, providing flexible reporting.
• Provides the ability to block messages, remove or rename attachments, and notify
or warn a user, based on attachment type, name and size.
PureMessage Manager
An administrative interface for managing PureMessage servers provides:
• Email filtering policy configuration and repository management.
• Automated quarantine management.
• Automatic updating and delegated administration.
• Multi-server synchronisation and reporting.
End-user interfaces
• Optional scheduled email-based quarantine review and web-based on-demand
access to personal quarantines.
• Available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Traditional
Chinese.
