Security Identification Card Project
Union of Security Employees (USE), in collaboration with the
Security Industry Regulatory Department (SIRD), will jointly
issue the standardised identification (ID) card for all screened,
trained and registered private security officers in Singapore. With
an estimated of at least 35,000 (in-house and agency) officers
currently in the industry, the entire ID card issuance exercise
is expected to take more than one year to complete. Security
officers will be notified by SIRD in batches through a letter
to approach NTUC Centre to process their ID card application.
The ID card is introduced as part of the Job Re-creation Programme (JRP) to improve the professionalism
and image of the private security industry. As part of our union member benefits, USE will undertake to fully
subsidise the initial card processing fee of $10 as well as future card renewal fees for all USE members for life!
NTUC U Care Fund
The Labour Movement U Care Fund was launched on 11
March 2009 to raise $20 million to help needy low-income
workers and the retrenched to weather this economic downturn.
Union of Security Employees (USE) with the support of our
unionized companies and members will be contributing to the
fund through canvassing and fund raising events, to support
this good cause.
