#3 – Organize your notes and write a paragraph analyzing how the artists did or did not capture the<br />

essence of The Grapes of Wrath.<br />

#4 – Explain why Springsteen changes the phrase in the chorus from “searchin’ for the ghost of Tom<br />

Joad,” to “waitin’ for the Ghost of Tom Joad,” and finally to “with the ghost of Tom Joad.”<br />

#5 – Write 1-3 paragraphs detailing and analyzing what the artists/bands changed or added from the<br />

original lyrics and sound, and why such choices may have been made. Also discuss how the artists’<br />
