2 ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE DECLARATION
The environmental performance declaration is based on the result of the life cycle assessment.
Life Cycle Stage
The LCA results are classified into the following three phases.
Manufacturing phase:
- Extraction and production of raw materials and components.
- Transportation from supplier
- Production at the manufacturing site. (Main processes: Coating, Slitting, Rewinding and Packaging)
Use phase:
- Transportation from the manufacturer to customers.
Disposal phase:
- Transportation from user to landfill.
Assumption for LCA
-The LCA results are based on the period from Jan./2007 to Dec./2007, for the 1 roll of ink-ribbon as the
functional unit. Since we have no production records of TR-001,TR-002,TR-003,TR-004,TR-006 and TR-008,
we delete them from this EPD.
-At the use phase, only transportation data for delivery are taken into account as end-user information and
printer conditions can not be precisely identified.
