Applying for a place
Before you make your choice, you are welcome to visit the pre-school or
pedagogic care unit. You can find contact details for all pre-schools and
pedagogic care units on our website www.enkoping.se under “Barn och
utbildning”.
To apply for a place use the e-service “E-tjänst förskola, pedagogisk omsorg och
fritidshem”. You will find the e-service on our website www.enkoping.se under
“E-tjänster”.
To use the e-service you must have an e-ID. You can apply for one from Telia or
your bank.
If you have protected personal data or do not have a civic registration number
you cannot use the e-service, in which case you must contact the Schools Office.

Offer of a place
When a place is available you will be sent an e-mail or a text message asking you
to log in to the e-service and accept or decline the place.
The municipality is obliged to offer a place within the mandatory guarantee period
of four months.
The municipality is not obliged to offer you your first choice within the guarantee
period.

Income details and schedules
Since the fee is calculated on the household’s current income before tax, it is
important that the correct income is registered. You must also provide details of
your husband’s/wife’s/cohabitant’s income.
You enter a schedule on the e-service for the time that the child attends pre-school
or pedagogic care. Changes to schedules must be notified at the latest by the last
day of the month before the month when the change is desired, but at least two
weeks before the change is to apply.
What happens if incorrect income details are registered?
If the income figure is too low, the difference will be invoiced. The wrong amount
may be invoiced if the schedule is not changed in time.
What happens if an incorrect schedule is registered?
If there is no schedule, full attendance time is registered. If the schedule is not
changed in time, you will pay the wrong fee.

Check of income details
Once a year, households’ incomes as registered with the Swedish Tax Agency are
compared with the incomes they have registered with the Education Department.
If you have paid too much you will be reimbursed and if you have paid too little
you will receive an additional invoice.

What does a place cost?
The e-service allows you to calculate how much your place costs.
Enköping Municipality uses a maximum fees in child-care system. Maximum
fees in child-care means that there is a ceiling for how high a fee is paid for a
child. You pay a certain percentage of the household’s combined annual income.
The fee does not change according to the number of hours your child attends
pre-school.
The maximum fee for a place is 1,260 kronor, i.e. 3% of a maximum gross annual
income of 42,000 kronor.
Payment-free month
There is no payment-free month. You pay the same fee for twelve months every
year. There is no deduction if your child is ill.

Regular pre-school for
children aged 3-5
Regular pre-school is offered to all children aged between 3 and 5. The aim of
regular pre-school is to stimulate the children and promote community with other
children. Children may attend regular pre-school from the autumn term of the year
they reach the age of 3.
Number of hours free of charge
Regular pre-school comprises 525 hours a year and has the same school year as
the 9-year compulsory school. This is equivalent to 15 hours a week and no fee is
charged for these hours.
Number of additional hours
If your child attends pre-school or a pedagogic care unit for more than 15 hours,
this counts as a place and the normal fee is charged with a reduction of 22.5%.
Fee
You pay the same fee for twelve months every year. This means that hours that
are free of charge and the hours you pay for are evenly spread over the year.

Cancelling a place
You must give notice of cancelling a place at least 60 days before the date that
the child will leave.
You cancel the place through the “förskola, pedagogisk omsorg eller fritidshem”
e-service.
The fee for the pre-school place is invoiced for 60 days from the day you cancel
the place.
