MODERNIZATION OF LOCOMOTIVES FOR SHUNTING,<br />
LEAD BY REMOTE CONTROL<br />
The shunting locomotive with remote control Type LDH <strong>1250</strong> <strong>HP</strong> represents a model <strong>for</strong> the application of an<br />
advantageous and at the same time reliable solution which can be extended with positive results also to other<br />
shunting locomotives, being operated on the factory railways, in exploitation of deposits or<br />
marshalling yards.<br />
The use of this kind of locomotives contribute to the:<br />
restructure of the locomotive park<br />
modernization of the technologies<br />
growth of the degree of safety<br />
and security of the employees<br />
protection of the equipment<br />
Modernization<br />
consist on the following works:<br />
a) Redesign and execution of the break installation <strong>for</strong> train and locomotives using electropneumatic equipment<br />
which may be commanded by remote control. Equipments are delivered by the company Knorr Bremse Austria.<br />
b) Redesign and execution of the electric installation in order to allow the driving of the locomotive by remote control<br />
in condition of safe exploit. In this purpose the following equipment was integrated: remote control installation<br />
composed by transmitter, receiver, antenna.

• controllers <strong>for</strong> acceleration of diesel engine, locomotive brake, train brake.<br />
• auxiliary equipment: pressure regulator/pressure <strong>for</strong> the command of the diesel engine rotation.<br />
