Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science degree requirements<br />

To qualify <strong>for</strong> a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science degree, students must have:<br />

225 points <strong>of</strong> Science subjects and 75 points <strong>of</strong> breadth (see below), spread over 3 years<br />

Science:<br />

o At least 62.5 points (equivalent to 5 subjects) at level 1<br />

o At least 62.5 points at level 2<br />

o At least 75 points at level 3, including 50 points making up a Science Major<br />

No more than 37.5 points from any single area <strong>of</strong> Science study at level 1<br />

Note that <strong>Physics</strong> is a different area <strong>of</strong> study from Mathematics and Statistics.<br />

No more than 125 points may be taken in total at level 1<br />

Breadth requirements:<br />

At least 50 points, and maximum 75 points, <strong>of</strong> breadth over the degree<br />

A maximum <strong>of</strong> 37.5 points <strong>of</strong> breadth at level 1<br />

25 points may be taken from either core or breadth subjects<br />

i.e. <strong>of</strong> 75 breadth points, 50 must be breadth subjects but the remaining 25 can be breadth<br />

or core Science subjects.<br />
