This season Southern University at New Orleans experience great team and individual success. The athletic
program finished 3rd in the standing for the All-sports conference championship while regularly fielding
fewer athletes in track and field than competing schools and operating fewer athletic programs overall than
a number of conference foes.
In addition several individual athletes were singled out for their achievements at both the All-Conference
and All-American levels. Women’s basketball coach Elston King was named GCAC Co-Coach of the Year.
