My Editorial 

I’m happy to share these six years of LATIN 

AMERICAN MODEL, the International 

Company that is created to support modeling 

talents on many levels. 

On this occasion we present a doublecovered 

Magazine with two wonderful 

women: Kristen Rodriguez photographed by 

Pedro Rodriguez Gonzalez, and at the other 

side Claudia Mahalean photographed by Jean 

Joseph Lopez. 

We can count with new members in our 

team, “the fashion Guru” José Vidal and the 

photographer Joan Joseph Lopez, among 

others. 

Meet the only hotel in Colombia who has 

taken as its responsibility to protect the 

environment and make it self-sustaining with 

very ecological creations of a BIOHOTEL.

Now I can say that 

my dream is coming

around 15 years old 

I started with 

courses on 

modeling, later I 

started my career in 

scenic arts and now 

I complement it 

with my training as 

a professional 

model. 

During this time I 

have participated in 

the production of 

music videos by 

national artists, I 

supported with my 

image some 

campaigns of the 

social type in my 

hometown and I 

participated in 

beauty pageants. 


I have always been 

characterized by my 

charisma, the 

dedication to the care of 

my figure and the 

experience in the 

performing arts; this 

allows me to stand out 

as a multifaceted 

model. 

To take care of my 

figure I like to do 2 

daily hours at the gym, 

keep a balanced diet, I 

love to drink water and 

applying to my skin 

almond cream. 

I also like to practice 

pole dance for the 

styling of my figure, 

ride bicycle and have 

fun in the bike road. 

I dream of being a 

model of international 

projection and join the 

world of film, television 

and entertainment. 

My advice for girls: 

setting goals and ways 

of life, we must dare to 

dream and fight for 

these dreams, in the 

progress appears 

people who support you 

and help you meet 

those goals that you 

set, to me it happened 

with German studios, is 

my advisor and teacher

known in this world 

as Agnes OH. She is 

23 years old, is 

1.65m and her 

measurements are 

90-65-95. 

«I was born in Cuba. Being in 

the modeling world helps me 

disconnect from my daily 

routine. 

Since 14 years old, age when I 

was living in Cuba, the 

modeling world was something 

that struck my attention very 

much, so by circumstances of 

life remained in the air. With 

17 years old, when I started 

working here in Spain I 

considered it again, but I 

didn’t found nothing for me, 

maybe I didn’t look in the right 

places. 

I suffered overweight and 

without giving me the 

necessary courage, that 

illusion last only for a few 

months until I gave up. But 

I'm stubborn and I decided to 

fight for it, so I started to take 

care myself in food and do 

some sport, so I managed to 

regain a weight with which I 

feel at ease and my selfesteem 

is much higher after 

much sacrifice in a 

psychologically level, apart of 

physical level. Nothing is easy 

but I had a desire and a goal 

to accomplish. Today, thanks 

to my dedication I’m again in 

the modeling world. 





With 21 years old I started again 

to search jobs on internet for 

model and I found a 

photographer of Karisma model 

online magazine; that was my 

first job. From there, through 

social networks and several 

pages of models, I have met 

many photographers who have 

given me the opportunity to 

work in this world, I have 

learned different things from 

each one as each of them have a 

different style. I have worked in 

many shootings as a model. 

I would like to start making 

videos apart from photography, 

because I want to have more 

versatility as an artist; so one of 

my goals is also doing theater 

and learn everything possible, 

that's something I'll look later 

when I see it possible... 

How I look myself in the 

future? 

Well, my dream is to progress... 

just that. I want to have the 

opportunity to work in what I 

like. Do something associated 

with fashion, modeling, art or 

interpretation and feel that I 

enjoy what I do. Turn what is 

now a hobby in my daily life, get 

up every morning thanking for 

doing what I really like.

1995 in Medellin. She’s 

1.70 meters in height. She 

studied and completed her 

studies at the “Parra París” 

school in Medellín. 

I currently study social communication 

and journalism at the University 

institution of “La Sallista”. From an 

early age I was directed by the 

modeling and acting, I have been 

modeling for 3 years and I am 

motivated to continue my studies for 

acting as my dream is to make it into 

television and for that I am devoting 

much of my time to achieve my goals, 

preparing daily to get where I want. 

I received private lessons with the goal 

to acquire knowledge and gain 

experience for the day is my time to

currently live alone with my cat Romeo and

Maria Edilia Vergara and 

Luis Carlos Vanegas’s 

daughter, is the third 

daughter of the marriage. 

As a child in school always 

stood out for having good 

grades, being on the honor 

roll and participate in all 

extracurricular activities of 

the school. In her spare 

time she took music lessons 

with his brothers. 

She studied at “La 

Enseñanza” school until 9th 

grade and completed her 

studies at “La Sagrada 

Familia” school. She studied 

informatic and children's 

education at the 

Technological University of 

Pereira, at 18 years old she 

entered in “Casa Blanca” 

modeling academy where 

she decided to continue 

with this profession. 

Two years later she moved 

to the city of Panama, that 

was where she began to 

work as a model in several 

recognized agencies in the 

capital. Camila is 1.73 

meters, she has defined 

herself as a confident and 

very hardworking person, 

she has always liked to 

exercise and riding skates. 

She has been the face of 

advertising for Silver 

collection jewelry. 




She has participated in several 

renowned magazines in 

Panama. She has been noted 

for her outstanding 

participation in events such as 

Expocomer, Fashion week, 

Motorshow, Macrofest, 

Expovivienda, Expobelleza,

25 years old. 

«I am Spanish from Granada, I 

was born in a small village 

called “Peligros”, but since 

childhood I have lived in 

different parts of Spain, the city 

where I reside is usually 

Córdoba. I currently live in 

Santiago de Chile and work in 

modeling clothes and 

photography. 

Thanks to my work I have 

traveled around the world 

and I have met many 

countries and different 

cultures, which makes me 

enjoy immensely but I 

must say that I feel as a 

thoroughbred Spanish. 

Before starting in the world of 

fashion I dedicated in a way 

almost professionally to the 

world of athletics. I have 

always admired very much the 

sports world and I think that is 

closely linked to the world of 

image and thanks to the sport I 

have kept a good physical and 

spiritual state. 

A couple years ago I did my for 

the first time in my life a 

shooting. And I didn’t hesitate 

for even a second for the 

opportunity that gave me a 

Slovak agency to work 

professionally as a model. 



from that first job was in Istanbul 

(Turkey) I haven’t stopped 

traveling. 

Frankfurt, China, South Africa, 

Uruguay and Argentina (Punta del 

Este), currently Chile and soon 

India. Reaching to represent as 

Miss Spain for my country in 

various international 

competitions, parading and 

performing works of publicity and 

appearing in numerous 

international online publications. 

I am very happy and grateful for 

everything I have achieved this 

year. So when Pedro Rodriguez 

gave me the opportunity to cross 

the Atlantic to South America and 

the North American market with 

this book I didn’t have the 

slightest doubt, I loved the idea 

because I love those markets. 

Also because it’s a great and 

prestigious professional and good 

person, I figured I could be a 

great experience and generate 

some interesting results. 



Professionally speaking there 

are many branches in which 

I am comfortable, although 

the one that best suits my 

qualities is photography 

whether they are editorials, 

catalogs, lookbooks and the 

fashion-show, I love that 

world although I’m very 

interested in interpretation 

and I already had 

opportunities to work in 

small roles and music videos, 

so I'll try it too. 

I thank all to my family and 

of course to my parents, who 

have always supported me. 

Also to the vast amount of 

professionals who have given 

me the opportunity to grow 

in this world. I believe we 

have to fight for our dreams 

and in my case little by little 

I have been achieving what I 

have proposed with the 

utmost humility. I feel truly 

blessed.

«Sometimes you have to thank to 

someone push you to do something 

that you don’t want to do, you 

don’t know what that can means. 

It may be all or nothing.» 


The same thing happened to 

me in August of 2012 when 

my mother dragged me to 

my first casting. I had no 

idea of the world of fashion. 

Days passed and I didn’t 

receive news until the day I 

least expected at the most 

unexpected time, I was 

called by an unknown 

number... 

Was the boss of the casting, I was 

inside!! Jumping, screaming and crying all 

over my floor I will never forget. The 

parade day I was made a flan. But did all 

passes without falling!! To be the first 

time, it wasn’t bad. At the end, I 

remember several photographers 

approached to me and told me to get in 

an agency already. My name is Marlene 

Soto Redondo, I’m 22 years old and was 

born and live in Gijón (Asturias, Spain) 

In 2013 I recorded my first video clip, in 

the hand of Dalhí and his “So Strong". 

From there, I don’t longer stopped 

working. The next month, my first catalog 

for a designer in my city (Alba Solas) and 

a jewelry store. In the following months I 

was spent between parades and photo 

shoots. In September, someone called 

me to record my second video clip with 

Jose Tena and his "Te digo un secreto? 

Remix"(Do I tell you a secret? Remix). In 

December, a group of music (Verde 

Canaia) requested me as a cover of their 

CD. In 2014 and thanks to be 

participating in a contest, Julio Albendea, 

president of Miss Tourism Spain he 

marked me to represent my community. 

When he contacted me, I was shaking all. 

Days later, I recorded my third video clip 

with "Diego Laruelo" and his song "I 

Think Of You”. 





June was full of interesting 

and exciting projects. I came 

out for the first time of 

Asturias to go parading in 

Mallorca, in the FASHION 

Week in Porto Pi. It was an 

amazing week, with long 

and hard practices. 

Ultimately it was a 

spectacular parade with 

stunning choreography. On 

my return to Asturias, I still 

needed to parade with an 

Andalusian designer, Inma 

Castrejón in OVIEDO. The 

rest of the summer passed 

between photo shoots, 

fashion shows and with 

preparations for the catalog 

of L'Oreal and Luis Macavide 

Asturias. Without realizing it, 

September came, the month 

before the contes of Miss 

Tourism Spain, and finally 

coming October. The day 

before of walk for ten days 

to the contest, my 

coworkers couldn’t have 

made for me a better 

farewell. 

The next time I opened my 

eyes I was in Alcudia with 

my band of Miss Tourism 

Asturias. They were ten 

amazing days full of 

experiences, parades, 

practices and spectacular 

friends. The final gala was 

on Saturday 11. Three days 

ago, the first band was 

given; Miss Bikini Spain 

2014. Band that attaches to 

the best body.t 





Since I knew that I was 

participating in the pageant I 

prepared thoroughly for that 

band. Any effort and sacrifice 

pays off since I got the band 

that I strongly desired. Miss 

Tourism Spain, the two ladies 

and Miss Elegance: The day of 

the final gala four bands were 

given. Again, they returned to 

appoint Miss Asturias, this time 

to grant the band Miss Elegance 

and a beautiful bouquet. 

The crown couldn’t be, but I left 

feeling very happy for everything 

I had achieved in such a short 

time. The following month, in 

November, I got to parade with 

such great designers as Petro 

Valverde, José Castro and Ulises 

Mérida. Currently, I’m the 

delegate of Miss Tourism 

Asturias. A few days ago I 

opened a small school of models 

to teach the basics to girls who 

want to try their luck. I combine 

it with my other public relations 

work in the pub La Havana, 

where I am supported 200%. 

I can’t fail to mention that also 

make time for my training as I 

am preparing to compete in 

Fitness by the hand of nutrition 

store. And all this without 

leaving away my projects like 

model! I want to thank everyone 

who supported me and that still 

supports me every day, 

especially my mother, she is the 

one who encouraged me to 

many things that I had never 

crossed my mind.

Even though many of us 

are used to ingest in our 

daily diet meat and its 

derivatives, I want to invite 

you for us to look for a 

change in this style for two 

reasons:

one is that our organism doesn't digest 

in the best way this foods and in many 

cases they include elements that may 

make us sick. Clearly as I always say, 

never change your diet without 

consulting with your doctor and 

nutritionist for them to guide you in 

how to proceed correctly. 

The second reason is to remember that 

eating with love and with no pain is 

becoming a lifestyle for many and I will 

be talking about it. 

For those reasons I will be sharing 

some delicious recipes. 

My suggestions are: 

Grilled vegetables. 

Rustic mash potatoes. 

Delicious fruit couscous. 

Ingredients: 

Vegetables. 

One eggplant 

One carrot. 

80 grams of pumpkin 

80 grams of green zucchini 

80 grams of yellow zucchini 


All the vegetables cut in thin slices and the 

pepper in thin sticks. 

A dash of salt and pepper. 

A teaspoon of vegetable oil. 

Potatoes. 

250 grams of peeled potatoes, diced into 

small cubes. 

400 cubic of water. 

Three teaspoons of finely cut parsley. 

One teaspoon of finely cut rosemary. 

20 grams of margarine. 

One spoon of salt and a sprinkle of pepper. 

Couscous. 

A 100 grams box of Couscous. 

100 cubic centimeter of boiling water. 

300 grams of diced fruits of your preference. 

50 grams of almonds. 

50 grams of raisins. 

40 grams of green maraschino cherries and 

40 more of red ones. 

50 cubic centimeter of natural bee honey. 

150 cubic centimeter of soy or almond milk. 

Preparation. 

Vegetales. 

Get your grill ready, either electric or coal 

one, and place the vegetables in the fire for 

about 2 minutes on each side with a bit of 

salt and pepper and serve them. 

Potatoes. 

Cook the potatoes with salt and when they 

are done, make a mash with them adding 

the fine herbs and the margarine, taste for 

seasoning and serve 

Couscous 

Pour the hot water over the couscous until 

is covered and place it on a polyvinyl sheet 

during 5 minutes to absorb, then with a 

clean hand crumble the couscous and mix 

with the other ingredients, serve with 

potatoes and the vegetables and enjoy a 

delicious dish.

in the city and why did 

you choose this one?: 

Our beginnings were in 

Madrid in the early 80s, 

there we had a design and 

fashion cabinet, besides 

teaching Design at the 

Madrid School of Fashion. 

After a long career in 

Fashion and Theater, we 

settled in Seville creating 

Blanco and Belmonte 

couture and accessories. 

-As a reference city and 

don’t you choose another 

city?: 

Currently Sevilla has a great 

potential for personalized 

fashion, sewing to size, 

there are many artisan 

tradition and we have more 

interest in punctual design. 

-How did you get started 

in the fashion world?: 

First at teaching level, 

moving to design in a small 

workshop in Madrid in the 

Almirante street 

-What are the guidelines that 

mark your job? 

Creativity in merging structures, 

colors and textures, always serve 

to enhance the female figure. 

-Who are the target people for 

your designs?. 

For women who want something 

special and flattering and don’t 

have the oriental serial label 

-How would you define your 

clothes? 

Tailored to each woman, flattering 

with special touches, from the 

pictorial intervention in a tissue, 

dyes or crafted appliques. 

-What do you think of trends 

and fashion? 

It has always been subjected to all 

social changes, and currently 

puts it on a necessary 

eclecticism, anything is 

possible if is fully seated 

in its concept of image, 

sometimes true works 

of art are made, not 

only in forms, also in 

concepts. 

-Tell me about a 

designer that you like. 

What do you most like 

about him? 

We like many designers 

John Galliano, Karl 

Lagerfeld, Valentino, 

Montana and a long etc 

where they all have 

revolutionized the world 

of fashion with unusual 

iconographic proposals, 

but I think the artistic 

concept of the sadly 

deceased Alexander 

McQueen was unique, 

his proposals were real 

artistic facilities. 



-What advice would you ask 

him for? 

Always think of enjoying the 

work and never on what you 

can sell, if you do something 

special automatically select the 

type of woman and this will 

make you freer in the time to 

create. 

-What do you think about the 

new talents? 

It’s important that Fashion 

feeds with new talents, and 

these people should project in 

their designs technological 

references that have influenced 

them, and we shouldn’t forget 

that behind the creative 

inspiration, comes the art of 

development handicraft, good 

sewing, craftsmanship, 

ultimately the good work. 

-What are your plans for the 

future? 

After making the costumes for 

the “Ballet Flamenco de 

Andalucia”, in the shows “En la 

memoria del Cante 1922” and 

“Imágenes” we would like to 

continue our work in parallel 

with theatrical costume 

because it’s interesting the 

symbiosis of costumes, scenery 

and lighting. 

-What do you expect of your 

clothes? 

We hope to continue enjoying 

with the creativity without opt 

for industrial mass and less for 

its realization in other 

countries. 

-How do you define yourself? 

We are honest, creative and 

curious 

-What is the first thing you 

think of when you wake up? 

I think in the wonderful light 

coming through the window and 

we feel it’s a gift of the day and 

connect to classical radio at 

breakfast.

We poke around in different 

ways, design, or we print fabrics 

or make pictures of accessories, 

a good novel or the resounding 

silence, we aren’t of those who

Do any work with

I made my first years in

and Black) school, and as 

Model in High Class Model 

school. 

Then I moved to Madrid 

(Spain) to study at Cristina 

Rota School of 

Interpretation, where soon 

I worked in several 

productions including 

'Sirenas del alma' (Sirens 

of the soul) as Main 

Actress. 

By the hands of fate I end 

in Barcelona, where I 

currently live and where I 

prepared on an intensive 

course with the casting 

director Juan Leon. Also I 

intervened in several short 

films. Now I have resumed 

my voice lessons because 

one of my major projects 

is to sing and expand my 

career as an actress, 

model and singer . 




As a Singer, the truth all 

came from a musical where 

there was a rumor that they 

needed a character like 

Pocahontas and as I have a 

similar style to her and be 

called since I was small 

Pocahontas, I only need to 

sing, so I decided to take 

voice lessons in private in 

THE BOX school. Soon I 

was performing a concert 

with the other students.


‘As a Model I love to feel sensual, feel love, and feel 

free. Those who know me since childhood knows 

that I always have loved to interpret and be 

model.’ 



2 years ago I wrote my first 4 songs 

which, in the future, I'll be proud to 

share them with all of you.

“Desert Dancer” (Dancing for 

freedom) is the emotional true 

story of Afshin Ghaffarian, a 

young Iranian who came to 

the last consequences to fulfill 

his dream: Dancing. In the 

company of his friends, Afshin 

learned the moves of Michael 

Jackson, Gene Kelly and Pina 

Bausch, illegally entering 

YouTube among of the hectic 

presidential elections of 2009 

in Iran. With the freedom of 

expression threatened and 

when dancing was banned in a 

country that had previously 

recognized ballet and 

contemporary dance 

companies, this young man 

found in his body the tools to 

declare his freedom. 

“Desert Dancer” (Dancing for 

freedom) is the first feature 

film from the British director 

Richard Raymon. The film 

opened the Film Festival of 

Santa Barbara and filled with 

2,000 attendees the historic 

Arlington Theatre. Scott 

Feinberg of The Hollywood 

Reporter said: "It’s one of the 

most impressive and emotional 

opening films I've seen in the 

seven years of attending the 

festival, celebrating freedom 

ofexpression just weeks after 

the terrorist attack to Charlie 

Hebdo in Paris showed how 

some people want to suppress 

the fact." 


The film is starring for Reece 

Ritchie, who plays as the young 

Afshin and looks a little like 

Michael Jackson. Accompany him, 

Tom Cullen(Downton Abbey) and 

Freida Pinto (Slumdog 

Millionaire), who trained 

intensively 8 hours daily for 14 

weeks to play as Elaheh, a dancer 

who learned to dance by his 

mother and then helps 

Ghaffariana to perfection her 

movements. 

The choreography was in charge 

of the British Akram Khan, whose 

company was presented at the 

opening ceremony of the Olympic 

Games in London in 2012 and 

has received numerous awards 

including the Laurence Olivier. 




Afshin Ghaffarian 

Afshin Ghaffarian born in 

Mashhad, Iran in 1986. He began 

to take an interest in dance since 

childhood and learned to express 

himself through his body. The 

situation in his country turned his 

passion into a powerful political 

statement, which forced him to 

emigrate to survive. "If you're an 

artist, we will hit you artistically" 

said a commander of the Basij 

militia. Ghaffarian traveled to 

Germany to present a play and 

that was the first step to get to 

France, where he established his 

own dance company, the 

Compagniedes Réformances, in 

which currently works.

No, when I approach

had children from 8

My family is made up 

of musicians, actors, 

speakers, composers,
