Steps for <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> <strong>Church</strong> Projects<br />

I. Notification of Need: <strong>Church</strong> or Mission Point shares need with the <strong>Kentucky</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong><br />

<strong>Convention</strong>’s <strong>Baptist</strong> Men on Mission Department and the <strong>Church</strong> Development Team Office.<br />

The KBC will provide guidance in the following areas:<br />

A. <strong>Church</strong> Approval to Proceed<br />

B. Land Purchase<br />

C. New Building<br />

D. Renovation<br />

E. Consultation<br />

F. Commitment to Agreed Schedule<br />

II. Examine Options: Representatives from KBC <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> will meet with the<br />

<strong>Church</strong>/Mission Point to discuss what types of assistance are available through the KBC.<br />

A. <strong>Kentucky</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> Services<br />

B. <strong>Church</strong> Building Loans and Grants (available through the<br />

KBC’s Mission Growth Team Office)<br />

C. Partnership with architectural firm<br />

III. Project Approval: <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> and <strong>Church</strong>/Mission Point will complete necessary<br />

forms for project approval.<br />

A. <strong>Church</strong> submits a <strong>Kentucky</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> Request Form<br />

B. <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> representative meets with <strong>Church</strong>/Mission Point to discuss<br />

project guidelines<br />

C. Both parties sign the <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong>/<strong>Church</strong> <strong>Covenant</strong>, <strong>Kentucky</strong> <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Convention</strong><br />

<strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> Services Agreement, and <strong>Church</strong> Timeline Agreement<br />

D. Project Coordinator and <strong>Baptist</strong> Men on Mission Department approve project<br />

IV. Plan Development: <strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> and <strong>Church</strong>/Mission Point will collaborate with<br />

architectural firm for building plan development.<br />

A. Work with existing plans or existing architect<br />

B. Architectural firm to develop preliminary and final plans<br />

C. Plans need to be approved by <strong>Church</strong> or Mission Point, Project Coordinator,<br />

<strong>Baptist</strong> <strong>Builders</strong> State Coordinator, <strong>Baptist</strong> Men on Missions Department<br />

D. Make any final adjustments to ensure plans meet local and state codes and regulation,<br />

and are conducive to volunteer labor<br />

E. Submit plans for approval to state if necessary<br />
