Steps for Baptist Builders Church Projects
I. Notification of Need: Church or Mission Point shares need with the Kentucky Baptist
Convention’s Baptist Men on Mission Department and the Church Development Team Office.
The KBC will provide guidance in the following areas:
A. Church Approval to Proceed
B. Land Purchase
C. New Building
D. Renovation
E. Consultation
F. Commitment to Agreed Schedule
II. Examine Options: Representatives from KBC Baptist Builders will meet with the
Church/Mission Point to discuss what types of assistance are available through the KBC.
A. Kentucky Baptist Builders Services
B. Church Building Loans and Grants (available through the
KBC’s Mission Growth Team Office)
C. Partnership with architectural firm
III. Project Approval: Baptist Builders and Church/Mission Point will complete necessary
forms for project approval.
A. Church submits a Kentucky Baptist Builders Request Form
B. Baptist Builders representative meets with Church/Mission Point to discuss
project guidelines
C. Both parties sign the Baptist Builders/Church Covenant, Kentucky Baptist Convention
Baptist Builders Services Agreement, and Church Timeline Agreement
D. Project Coordinator and Baptist Men on Mission Department approve project
IV. Plan Development: Baptist Builders and Church/Mission Point will collaborate with
architectural firm for building plan development.
A. Work with existing plans or existing architect
B. Architectural firm to develop preliminary and final plans
C. Plans need to be approved by Church or Mission Point, Project Coordinator,
Baptist Builders State Coordinator, Baptist Men on Missions Department
D. Make any final adjustments to ensure plans meet local and state codes and regulation,
and are conducive to volunteer labor
E. Submit plans for approval to state if necessary
