NORTH STEYNE SIPS NIGHT is the last Friday of the
month at the Club. Even though Patrol season is over,
SIPs nights are still on so come down from 6pm and meet
your friends from the beach in the Club Room and enjoy a
cool ale, alcopop or soft drink on the balcony and watch
the footie.

Friday 10 th May culminated a big year for North
Steyne on the beach and also in competition. We
had record numbers competing in the Lifesaving
Section all the way through to Aussies together
with our very competitive and victorious boat
rowers.
Patrolperson of the Year, Harry Yandle with Ron Morton
On the beach, there were no lives lost and out of
six patrol inspections, four perfect scores were
recorded – the other two were for the loss of only a
few points – augers well in the Branch’s Most
Outstanding Club awards.

Club Championships
The water component was held on the last day of
Patrols – Sunday 28 th April in beautiful surf
conditions. Great turn-out of competitors and
everybody enjoyed themselves. There was even a
non-competitive board rescue event held at the
end and most competitors banded together in
pairs to display their board rescue prowess.

Soft Sand Shuffle
Run and won on Sunday 5 th May. Great day, great
weather and everybody had a great time.
Congratulations to David Cowell and his Soft Sand
Shuffle team on a magnificent event – to be made
even bigger next year. Also, many thanks to all
our Club volunteers who helped with First Aid,
starting, guiding, setting up, registration, taking
down and packing up – wonderful effort.
