General Manager’s Report
Well we are near the end of the year and it
has been a very busy year for your Club and
the Club industry.
On the federal front it seems the mandatory
pre commitment issue has been quashed
however we as a Club are always committed
to the Responsible Conduct of Gambling
and through our ongoing support from
ClubSafe we will continue to assist patrons
who request help.
2012 ClubGRANT recipients
I was also very pleased to represent your
Club along with Club President Alan Barnes at
the recent ClubGRANTS presentation where
your club donated over $35,000 to a number
of worthy organisations. This was in addition
to the $62,000 your Club committed to
sporting activities throughout 2012.
Now for the following upcoming events for
your club:
• Our Fete is on again with Santa and Holly’s
Jolly Christmas. Fun for the whole family
and all kids who purchase a ticket will
receive a free show bag and free rides all
day, plus there are many stalls for mum &
dad. Saturday 24th November from 11am
to 4pm. Tickets are limited and are on sale
now at reception at $3.
• Saturday 1st December 2012 come along
and enjoy all glitz and glamour with our
Tribute Show “All About Johnny” with
the amazing sounds from John Farnham,
Johnny cash, Johnny Mathis Johnny
O’Keefe and many more starting at 7pm
with tickets only $35 all inclusive, tickets go
on sale Monday 3rd October.
• Join us for our Senior Citizens Christmas
Lunch on Tuesday 4th December at
12.30pm. Tickets are only $12 featuring
the sounds of Frankie Valentyn. Tickets go
on sale Monday 1st October 2012.
• Our Christmas Ham Raffles are always a
great hit and this year will be no exception
with 101 ½ leg hams being given away on
Friday 7th December and again on Friday
14th December. Tickets are only $1 and
are on sale from 3pm. Draw to commence
at 5.30pm. There will be 202 half leg hams
to be won over the two draws.
• Friday 21st December will see our Seafood
raffle take place in time for Christmas
Tickets are $1.00 and are on sale from
4.30pm. Draw to commence at 5.30pm. to
win an array of oysters prawns crabs etc.
• You could win a 2013 Kia Rio Reborn with
your membership renewal. That’s right!
You could win a 5 door automatic Kia by
simply joining the Club or renewing your
membership by 31st January 2013. Check
the details and conditions on page 5.
Membership renewals will open on
Friday 23rd November 2012.
• Monday 31st December see in 2013 with
a bang here at Kingsgrove RSL with good
food, good wine and great entertainment
as we count down to the New Year.
Tickets are $25 and seating will be limited.
• Australia day falls on Saturday 26th January
2013 so come and join us for a free
sausage sizzle, live entertainment, $2.50
beers and $2 glasses of wine and a mega
raffle to win an assortment of great prizes.
• Chinese New Year will be held here at
the Club on Saturday 9th February with 2
amazing banquet menu’s on offer from our
Fusion Brasserie (details on page 7) with
a live lion dance performance at 7.30pm.
Seating will be limited and available by
booking only. A buffet menu will be
available in the auditorium on this night.
As this is the last edition of the year, I would
like to take this opportunity to wish a Merry
Christmas to Alan Barnes and the Board of
Directors, to John Graham and Peter Lyle
and the Sub Branch Committee, to Madame
President Pat Graham and the ladies of
the Women’s Auxiliary, to the members of
the Kingsgrove RSL Club Ltd Community
Group, to all the sporting club committees,
Angus and Tommy and their catering staff.
A Merry Christmas to my management team
of Wayne McFayden, Debbie Harris, Nick
Papadatos, Angelo Farinaro, Nuno Henriques,
Lachlan Bate, Julia Qiu, my administration staff
of Pam Bingham, Sarah Cheeseman and Karla
Turnbull and all the Club staff who worked
tirelessly throughout the year.
On behalf of the management and staff I
wish a very Merry Christmas and a happy
and healthy New Year to all the members
and their families and friends.
